New Foley Instant Messages; Had Internet Sex While Awaiting House Vote October 03, 2006 1:22 PM
Brian Ross and Maddy Sauer Report:
Former Congressman Mark Foley (R-FL) interrupted a vote on the floor of the House in 2003 to engage in Internet sex with a high school student who had served as a congressional page, according to new Internet instant messages provided to ABC News by former pages.
ABC News now has obtained 52 separate instant message exchanges, which former pages say were sent by Foley, using the screen name Maf54, to two different boys under the age of 18.
This message was dated April 2003, at approximately 7 p.m., according to the message time stamp.

No, servers do not archive emails unless they are saved on a server. Most people download emails to their PCs and most get deleted from there.
Maybe they think they'll be able to repair it once they're back in power?

The best thing would be for everyone to shut up, but I see that MORE stuff is supposed to come out, so I think it best that we get real aggressive about this.
I can spin a good theory, given the responses by the supposed page, that the page had an idea of Foley's proclivities and was engaged in entrapment at the urging of his democrat (my assumption) parents.
I have no idea whether this is true, but as long as the democrats are going to get on the air with their own theories I think we should have some as well.
I did a google search, filtered to take out results that were about this scandal, and came up empty handed except for a women who likes genealogy and someone who was a criminal justice/poly sci major who wrote an essay for sale on the Manson Trial (I don't think Foley majored in that at PBCC).
Which is all very surprising. I expected him to be less careful.
Wow, that's quite a lis on that web site: Wonder if there are other events waiting from this group?

the clients can log, that's for sure. but the issue is - do the providers log all the sessions?
Hear that Patriot? You're a prude for being disgusted by perfectly normal cybersex between a 52-year-old gay man in a position of power and a teenage boy who may or may not have been at the legal age of consent, depending on the jurisdictions.
PRUDE!
Exactly.
It won't work. NOBODY will drop the GOP and vote for the party that would legalize incest, sex with children, the neighbors collie...etc.
I'm not blaming some 16 year old boy who is sexually confused for accepting the attention of an older man. The boy was probably molested years earlier and screwed up then and Foley was just taking advantage of this spring chicken.
Where did I saw that, Johnny? Perhaps part of your problem around here is reading comprehension.
In case you forgot, posters have a RIGHT to voice their opinions on this forum.
Nobody likes what Foley did, but most of us realize he's gone, this is all MSM hysteria, and we are NOT slitting our wrists, like the rest of you all do when ever ANYTHING remotely troubling comes up.
Grow up.
emails? no, those are typically archived by the provider or corporate mail host. even though you download them to your PC.
Have you ever noticed that it's the MEN who seem to get all hysterical whenever any of these controversies comes up? What's with that?
Haven't you heard the FReepers ranting about how this has nothing to do with Foley being gay, and how there's no way Hastert could have been suspicious of Foley because he was a gay man sending creepy emails to a teenage boy?
So many have already surrendered their feeble minds to gay indoctrination.
And it's always about SEX. Hmm...
The least Clinton could have done was to offer to give a "Monica" to the foreign leader to make up for the time wasted, after all, Monica was Clinton's private little sex slave.
"I have him on too but he doesnt even have a profile."
It must have been erased because I saw a profile posted on one of the threads last night. It didn't offer much information, but I do remember that it contained a statement, "I don't want kids".
This scandal has to be a vast left-wing conspiracy.
Likewise, I am not defending the man. If he preyed on teenage boys, hell is too good for him. But, what strike me about this is that any moron, including most Dems, could sit at a keyboard and produce files that look like IM sessions. Two people could actually use IM to do it. This "evidence" from ABC wouldn't pass the scrutiny of your average third grader. There are ways to corroborate the evidence with ISP's, but I doubt any ISP has session logs from 2003, which may be another clue..
This is beginning to enter the "fake but accurate" realm...
FGS, where in the hell did you come up with that?
Did it ever occur to you that maybe this guy knew exactly what he was doing/logging?
