New Foley Instant Messages; Had Internet Sex While Awaiting House Vote October 03, 2006 1:22 PM

Brian Ross and Maddy Sauer Report:

Former Congressman Mark Foley (R-FL) interrupted a vote on the floor of the House in 2003 to engage in Internet sex with a high school student who had served as a congressional page, according to new Internet instant messages provided to ABC News by former pages.

ABC News now has obtained 52 separate instant message exchanges, which former pages say were sent by Foley, using the screen name Maf54, to two different boys under the age of 18.

This message was dated April 2003, at approximately 7 p.m., according to the message time stamp.

This is just wrong and indefensible and has nothing to do with dems or repubs - Foley should be in jail.

Wrong yes. Clearly. But Foley in jail, I dont' think so. As posted a zillion times the age of consent in DC is 16! Don't like that? Ask Congress to change the laws, but Foley did not break any laws even if he was buggering this boy!!

Can you believe some of these people right now -- I am betting they are DemocRATs stirring the pot. If the kid is 16, what crime was committed?

I agree with you, also, but we ignore the impact of the MSM influence at our own peril. They may be in decline, but they are not impotent. The longer the orchestration stays in the background, the more leverage this story gives democrats.

I know there will be some who get outraged about playing politics with this, the acts of Foley are abhorrent, but they are fooling themselves if they don't realize democrats, with the aid of the MSM, are already doing so. If you do not engage the attack and take control of the issues and headlines, you will lose the battle. In today's political climate, timidity is not an option.

I have been all over AOL and cannot find anything archived including my daughter's IM asking me if I was still up as she had a question last night.

I couldn't find anything on Yahoo either but then I haven't been on Yahoo Messenger for months.

Unfortunately I believe it falls under free speech as long as there are no visual pictures sent then that would be porn.

" I want to know who the scum is that had this information and left children vulnerable so they could use it for partisan means! " Yep me too..thats the guy we need to find..Thats a crime in itself. It's obvious the safty of the kid was NOT the priority but the ability to use it as a political scandle was. why oh why isn't the Republican leadership coming out and asking WHO THE HELL KNE WTHIS ALL THE WHILE AND DIDNT TELL ANYONE ! Is common sense dead in DC ?

The only way these IM's surfaced is if these young men saved them and sold them (or perhaps gave them away). There is no server that stores these. They can be easily stored by the user by simply selecting the option to store them.

They are now highly paid Democrat Operatives ...

Foley voted with the Donkeys on abortion and gay issues. He was not, and never claimed to be, a "family values" candidate. The Republicans have a "big tent" policy that permits people of diverse opinions on these matters to enjoy the support of the party in contests against the Donkeys.

Didja maybe consider that that didn't work out very well in this case?

Sure, Foley's gay, pro-gay rights, pro-abortion, but he gives us another vote in Congress!

Oops.

Keep the Log Cabinites OUT of the Republican Party!!!!

To: Mo1; everyone

I have been trying to find my old IM for about an hour. Where are they recorded? I was told that the only way to keep them is to cut and paste into another document. My question if this is true! Why did Foley sent these messages to the NEWS papers????

I think him resigning should have happened, but then I thought he shouldn't have been elected in the first place as a Republican. I always thought he was a scumbag but this isn't about Foley has much as it is becoming about the Dims wanting control of the House and will do anything to get that.

Nobody would believe Foley if he said this isn't what he said. He was probably drunk from the sounds of it and doesn't have a clue.

FBI will validate them but I still have a question if this kid was 16, where is the crime?

So, if the Dems get those, can the Pubs & the FBI get all the emails and IM's from Williams Jefferson's - Democratic, Louisiana, office?

Coulda/shoulda/woulda. . .and wouldn't you think. . .but of course; NOT. . .

Repubs need a strong offensive here. . .and now.

"NOPE - Rush was just somewhat joking and saying they were running an office pool on the next big story and that whatever the Clinton war machine was cranking it out, it would not appear until after 3 on a Friday to make the Sunday talkshows."

Thanks for the clarification,  I missed the show today.

Same song about 15th verse or more. I think I am going back to keeping a list like I used to so I don't have to think when I see certain people post. :)
