New Foley Instant Messages; Had Internet Sex While Awaiting House Vote October 03, 2006 1:22 PM
Brian Ross and Maddy Sauer Report:
Former Congressman Mark Foley (R-FL) interrupted a vote on the floor of the House in 2003 to engage in Internet sex with a high school student who had served as a congressional page, according to new Internet instant messages provided to ABC News by former pages.
ABC News now has obtained 52 separate instant message exchanges, which former pages say were sent by Foley, using the screen name Maf54, to two different boys under the age of 18.
This message was dated April 2003, at approximately 7 p.m., according to the message time stamp.

Florida, age of consent is 16 as long as the older person is not more than five(7?) years older.......gotta check....
Who saves over 52 IMs???
Some of you supposed Conservatives make me sick.
Clinton was wrong and a liar, but he did it with an adult (albeit younger) female.
This is f***ing pedophilia, sick, gay, and perverted. This Foley guy has a serious problem full stop.
I could give a rats ass who the source is if this is true - or frankly where the story came from if its true.
This is just wrong and indefensible and has nothing to do with dems or repubs - Foley should be in jail.
For Pete's sake would we deny the Holocaust if ABC reported it or the NY Times; what about what the Washington Times said - do we accept that as perfect gospel.
WE HAD A GAY PEDOPHILE PROPOSITIONING PEOPLE'S KIDS WHILE HE WAS BEING PAID WITH OUR TAX DOLLARS. WAKE THE F*** UP AND QUIT TRYING TO PROTEST OR PROTECT BASED ON PARTISANSHIP. THIS IS ABOUT A FREEKING PEDOPHILE!!!!!!
I stand corrected..
As the good citizens of Washington D.C. have declared open season on teenage boys, I guess it's a Big Fat Gay Party!
Silly me, I still find the idea of a 50something year old man and a 16 year old boy odd....but wadda I know out here in flyover country...
"Didn't Rove say there would be one?"
What we're seeing now is Howard Dean's "October Surprise." The Dems made a political calculation to get there first with their's to blunt the effect of Rove's.
We'll see who made the better political move on November 7th.
No flames from me. I never even let my HIGH SCHOOL kids come home to an empty house!
The very dangerous thing, is that this type of behavior makes us vulnerable not only to RATS, but all kinds of foreign powers. Saddam Hussein was known for his bribery of official in other countries. The world we live in, is far too dangerous, for our reps to be vulnerable to blackmail.
I'd suspect they're getting it from either Foley's Blackberry Service Provider or from the kid's cell phone service provider.
I would like to know how they know for fact that these instant messages are from Foley? Were they on HIS computer? Who's to say that SOME of this info dribbling out - isn't an imposter? Not hard to go online and sign up and be whoever you want to be. Just makes me very suspicious considering how this information is coming out. Also - the text messages - wouldn't there be proof of those from the cell phone company?
He's guilty of something for sure, but I think that maybe he's being set up for some of it for nothing but Democratic gain. The messages, etc. are sickening - and so is the obvious political b.s. from the democrats.
I need to get me a pair of those rose colored glasses..
Before it's over you'll have me convinced that this was all part of a great plan to throw the Democrats off message....hehe.
But Hastert didn't even know Foley was gay. Why would he think Foley wanted to diddle boys? [/FReepers in denial]
The impression I got today from Hastert on Rush was that the one set of parents apparently knew about the IMs. Which means they knew their son was engaging in internet sex talk with an older man .
This is abnormal behavior for a 16 or 17 yr old to be doing.
This kid with his fake ID has obviously been around the block a few times. He's enjoying this.
He's maintaining contact with a man old enough to be his father and engaging in mutual sex talk.
The parents have some responsibility ,as well as the kid for allowing this to continue.
Obviously Foley bears the most responsibility and will pay the consequences.
But, this kid is not an innocent " child " who one day opened his computer screen and saw unsolicited filth from Foley.
Innocent children are those we saw yesterday in Amish country.
We've been through all that.
How do you have sex with the internet?
Well we're getting closer to where these messages are coming from. Foley is probably using his Blackberry since he is actually on the floor of the House. He has to have an access point somewhere and without a doubt the House has all kinds of APs floating around. Any ten cent packet sniffer on any of the servers these messages route across can save this information. |
Yeah, I suspect your indignation is due to the fact that you are a troll!
By all means, do wake up. The email exchange was not in the least bit titillating. It was completely non-sexual. Based on the emails alone there was no action for the house to take. Let's just go ahead and throw all republicans under the bus for not raiding his house and illegally seizing his computer hard drive.
Quality rant, and spot on.
Get a grip. The Republicans are going to gain seats.
