What we're seeing now is Howard Dean's "October Surprise." The Dems made a political calculation to get there first with their's to blunt the effect of Rove's.
We'll see who made the better political move on November 7th.
I think this October Surprise was supposed to be launched in a few weeks but the Dems pressed the panic button after the Path to 9/11, the stockmarket rocketing, gas prices going lower and Slick Willie going off on Wallace with bold face lies. They pushed the button too soon. This will be forgotten in a few weeks.
