I am sorry for the Amish Families and pray that God give to the strength and courage to come through this tragedy. That being said, I doubt that they will accept any donations. I would probably guess that they are a proud people and just want to be left alone to grieve and try to get back to some sense of normalcy. I get the feeling that they already had enough of outsiders and would more than anything like the media and others leave them alone give them back their privacy. It is probably proper to let them know that we can provide some support if they'd be willing to accept, but I suspect they just want to get back to their lives and continue to take care of their own. This tragedy has most likly reinforced their desire to avoid our so called civil society. May God Bless them and give them comfort they need and deserve.

I think they will be okay with it if it goes directly to the hospitals to cover medical expenses.

"From what I know about the Amish and Mennonites, I wouldn't be at all surprised if they accepted the "charity" and used it for good works elsewhere."I deal with the Amish here in Ohio, and they are an extremely wonderful group, proud, self-reliant, and freindly when they know you. They do not PERSONALLY accept charity, but they may (in this case) use the donations for community good works.
Thanks.

Here's this one. May I suggest we turn this into the thread for information on how to help the affected, and to report the progress the injured are making?

The Amish are most likely not accepting this $$ personally but are rather letting the hospital receive it so as to go towards their children's medical bills. JMO

Logan's Prayer Warriors, I KNOW you're already praying...here's a thread, if you can, if you feel led to...where you can donate to the Amish families and community.
Thank you EBH...
