Rush: Democrat Attacks 'Totally Coordinated'
Newsmax ^ | 10-3-06 | Newsmax Staff

The Democratic Party's handwringing over the unfolding scandal involving former Rep. Mark Foley is part of a carefully coordinated attack designed to help the Democrats this coming election.

That's the verdict of the nation's top talker, Rush Limbaugh.

During Monday's show, and on his Web site, rushlimbaugh.com, Rush suggested that the Foley scandal was part of a larger effort by the "Clinton War Room" to hurt the GOP's chances just weeks before election day.

Limbaugh said the Democrats "do not find what Mark Foley did to be repugnant at all."

Limbaugh recalled that they "have defended such behavior in the past, and they have gone out of their way to see to it that those who have engaged in such behavior might have been reprimanded and so forth in a perfunctory way, but aside from [ex-New Jersey Governor] McGreevey they all hang on — Barney Frank, Gerry Studds, a number of these people.

"They don't find what he did repugnant, and you don't find one concern for the children. And we still to this day do not know what Foley actually did, if he ever met any of these pages, if he ever touched one of them, it's merely an instant message and e-mail scandal."

Rush, however, raised serious suspicion about the timing of the Foley scandal, as news reports indicate media saw some of Foley's e-mails as early as last November and that explicit instant messages were written some three years ago. "The attacks are totally coordinated," Rush concluded. "Sunday afternoon Harry Reid sent out a demand for the attorney general to investigate the Foley scandal. That was after the DNC sent out a demand asking why Tom Reynolds covered up Congressman Foley's so-called sex crimes.

"Then this organization called C.R.E.W. has called for the House to appoint an outside counsel to investigate the Foley scandal. Then Democracy 21 called on the House Ethics Committee to appoint an outside counsel to investigate House Republican leaders and their handling of the Foley scandal.

"This is a pure coordinated assault, and I'm going to tell you what I think is going on. I think the Clinton war room is back up in full speed. How long has this Foley stuff been known by people?" Rush asked. Rush noted that Foley is not the only Republican being targeted by the Clinton war room. He cited the case of the New York Republican candidate for state attorney general, Jeanine Pirro, who is being investigated for allegedly wanting to bug her husband's boat.

"The situation with Jeanine Pirro in New York, now all of her financial records have been subpoenaed by the U.S. attorney's office in Manhattan," Rush explained.

It sounds like Foley's status as a creep has been known for years.

Juxtaposed to the issues Foley championed as a legislator makes this whole series of events even more strange.

I believe this is coordinated as Rush suggests. But, I believe the only way this has any effect at all is if this divides Republicans. It will only effect the elections if Republicans voters let it.

Foley deserved to be removed from congress and deserves to be prosecuted.

Your post made a good point, but missed one. There's currently an investigation underway to see what, if any, laws were broken. Until it's been found that some law was broken (and it's not a sure thing that any were) then calls for prosecution are premature.

Depending on how it is handled it could dampen some voter's enthusiasm to go to the polls come election day.

I agree, there will be many bombshells breaking soon.

Everything in the universe is based on the number three. The democrats have used up their three, and they were all negative. What they sow so shall they reap, and it will come back at them and hit them three times as hard.
I was pondering just this morning about what we might have saved in our political pockets, because that's how politics works. It's our turn, and our three things will be wonderfully positive in nature. We have a record economy and extremely low gas prices. We need one more really big one.

Dems support homo scout masters.

This is the world they have legalized.

The "boy" was of age for sex in DC.
Like the Plame "outing" there is not crime alleged, unless somehow it's ok to sodomize someone but not to talk about it afterword via the internet. (Could be, the Congress are idiots.)

This is the world they have made. A 45 year old sodomizing a 16 year old is A-OK.

Not sure how you trap Pelosi with that, but someone should.

Congress is out of session.

If the R's lose in the lame duck session that should

1) Set a uniform age of consent at 18 for the USA.
2) Pass a law that may not be reviewed by any court that allows any organization that has "en loco parentis" to discriminate against gays at their sole discrection.
3) Out every gay person in the House and Senate of either party, including staff members of the Donk's.
4) End the payment of Gerry Studds pension.
5) Rename the park that is named after him in MA, or cut off federal funding if the state refuses to for all parks in MA.
6) Any other retribution others can come up with.

Democrats see nothing wrong with an overnight sleepover in a tent with a homosexual adult male despite numerous incidents of scouts being molested.

I'll give this very lame and premature Democratic "October Surprise" about a 3.5 out of 10.

We (Republicans, Conservatives, FReepers, et al) have weathered far worse over the years and we've still come out on top!

The Dems/Left/Lame Stream Media will once again bellyache, rant, overplay their hand and wind up with egg on their faces.

Jack.

You can have sex with an 16 year old in DC but you cannot provide that 16 year old with a nude photo of yourself, ask to take nude photos of the 16 year old, and certainly can't take photos of you engaging in the legal gay sex with that legal 16 year old.

The law draws some funny distinctions.

Also an 18 year old could still have sex with a 15 year old legally (well in the eyes of the law, they would be like Romeo & Juliet or Romeo & Romeo...). Close, you know. Like a 20 year old who tries to buy beer. < /sarc >

give it a couple of days...

I was mad as hell at Foley at first- now I am still mad, but equally as mad at the democraps now that I know they had these emails since 2003

and that is starting to become the story... and I think the media is going to go down with them this time (even worse than CBS with Dan Rather)

The Dems have got Republicans on "defense" and not talking about Defense.

The issues of the campaign are lost to DNC talking points.

If the Dems can get a few Republicans "outraged", maybe they can swing some votes in early voting. Or get people fed up with the whole mess that they don't vote.

If the democrats were in charge today, we'd have hate speech legislation that would make it illegal to even discuss any homosexual encounter, no matter how young the child was. It would be considered "discriminatory" and a punishable offense by the speaker (but not the homo molesting the 5 year old, of course. The homo would be considered "the victim".)

"I'm so sick of hearing this kid or young man described by the pundits and media as an " innocent child.""

That's right. The question is: "Who sent the sixteen-year-old to do this and entrap Foley?

I disagree- it is worse than that for the dems...

They are having ALL their past thrown up in their faces already and it is going to get worse as people realize the knew for 3 years and did nothing.

This is going to be a negative on your scale for them- if anything. ANd it is also going to bite ANTOTHER media 'giant' ABC.

Who is the producer at ABC who went with this story? (ABC's version of the CBS producer who was fired over 'Rathergate' at CBS)

THE REPUBLICANS HAVE TO STICK TO THAT STORY AND POINT OUT THE DIFFERANCE- WHEN WE FIND A SCUM IN OUR MIDST WE REMOVE HIM- DEMS RE-ELECT HIM

What is illegal about bugging her husban's boat? Isn't the boat hers, too? Heck, I've had all my communications tapped for the past year, and have no idea who is messing with me. They not only are logged on to my computer, but have disabled two different virus programs and firewalls, as well as tapped into my cell phone and text messaging.

AGE OF CONSENT IS IRRELEVANT!

This is child endagerment AND under his home state, FL, this is contributing to the sexual deliquincy of a minor.

Under 18 = minor. PERIOD.
