How many times do they have to say republican in this article???

Foley, 52, a six-term Florida Republican, resigned after ABC News reported he sent messages containing references to sexual organs and acts to current and former congressional pages.

House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi said House Republican leaders should be questioned under oath on how much they knew of Foley's e-mails to male pages, the teenagers who answer telephones, deliver documents and run other errands for members of Congress.

The scandal, breaking just weeks before the November 7 election to determine control of Congress, has shaken Republicans who often accuse the Democrats of being weak on moral issues.

Foley was chairman of the House caucus on missing and exploited children, and the author of the key sexual predator provisions of the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006, which President George W. Bush signed in July.

Reid in a statement said the allegations against Foley were "repugnant, but equally as bad is the possibility that Republican leaders in the House knew there was a problem and ignored it to preserve a congressional seat this election year."

The Democrats in and out of the Drive-By Media seem to be betting everything on this one hand. My personal opinion is that they sprang this too soon. For one thing, it obliterated Woodward's book. For another, it will be old news weeks before the election. They usually overplay their hand. This time, they just couldn't hold their fire long enough. Schmucks, LOL!

If perverts and sex predators were based upon one's looks, Harry Reid would be doing life in prison. That guy has a face and personality that needs to meet Bubba!

At least he resigned but I have some questions surrounding this whole mess:
-Did he know he was chatting with a teen and just how old was this teen?, i.e., was what he did criminal?
-How would he know the age? Do these chatrooms try to limit accessibility to adults?
-Was he using government property for this, as Clinton did?
-How did ABC News get the transcript? Was that legal?

I heard on the radio that Congressional staffers told the pages to be wary of Foley 5 years ago. What it shows is that Congress at all levels, from the Reps to the pages, has absolutely no respect for the American people. He should have been outted years ago.

Agree. Now perhaps it should be spun as follows. Foley is a Republican and these e-mails show his orientation. The fact that he was hounded out of office and personally destroyed by the Democrats show that they despise gays - one of their own key constituencies. I'm sure this could be spun in many other ways that do not show the Dems in a good light.

Who's been monitoring Bwawany Franks electronic communications and where are those messages?

This IS the defining failure of my beloved Republican party. Being able to self POLICE my own members. My liberal friends tell me that after the candidate has sold his soul enough to win the election, he cannot be redeemed.

To me that is a cop out! If you pick people of integrity to start with. You might get a great result.

I helped elect Senator Dr. Colburn and am so proud of that man and his integrity. We just need 50 more like him, or as close as we can get!

He knew the kid was a page and seemed to be pretty darn familiar with him. Barf.

Foley, co-chairman of the House Caucus on Missing and Exploited Children, helped write a law signed by President Bush in July that toughened prison sentences for sexual offenders. He told USA TODAY earlier this year the bill was needed because of online child exploitation. Referring to online predators, he said: "We're going to make your life a living hell." FBI looks at Foley's e-mails to teens

Living hell? So be it. He deserves nothing but revulsion and contempt -- no matter his party affiliation. He'll get no sympathy from me.

Engineer's coffee. When you turn the cup over it takes about three seconds for the coffee to run out!

If Barney Frank had not been talking to Al Queda overseas, NSA would not have monitored his commo...

I watched all this unfold while I was away in another state. Not the Rockefeller memo, nothing "Democrat" ever has made as much news. I thought it was a big yawn story. Oh My Gawd, sayeth the news, a gay congressman is vamping on young men. Pelosi, parrotting Cynthia McKinney, sayeth: "Republicans KNEW. When did they know this."

Just another example of Democrats living in a pre-911 world. Even yet. The news, IMHO really is: Gay man vamping on young men. The MSM however, thinks the Repub part is singularly the most important item.

The average voter, however, is going to be focusing moreso on "gay man vamps on young men".

Pelosi is demanding to waste taxpayer dollars on persecuting Republicans, rather than pedophiles.

Dems are wayyyy out of touch with the voters. Let's once again encourage the Dem Candidates and DNC to promote Gay Unions, Gay Adoptions, Gay everything up to the top of their agenda. Cognitive Dissonance is now writ large in the Democrat Party.

Liberal Democrats want homosexuals teaching in our schools. There is nothing wrong with it. Boy Scouts are being punished for wanting heterosexual scout leaders.
Today we see fake outrage from the left. Giimmmee a break.

Exactly. Tattoo breasts on his back and send him to San Quentin and throw away the key. Exploitation of children should never be excused.

I don't think this has anything to do with being gay. It's solicitation of a child pure and simple and I personally find it disgusting.
