So which is it? I read and posted a article from ABC that the PM's(the disgusting ones were from '03) Are these PM's from 03 or 05?
The EMAIL is from 2005 from what I read. Those were the 'flirty' ones, but nothing explicit. ABC is reporting that once they aired that email last night, that within 24 hours, they were contacted by former PAGES(plural) with archived PM'S of the sexual kind. Believe me you, I am not trying to make excuses for Foley, but I believe this part of the story is unbelievable for the reasons stated in previous posts.

Oh MM..Don't misunderstand me...I have no adequate words to describe my disgust with Foley.

This issue is really sick.
But, I read somewhere that the first email was obtained months ago,but they are just now getting around to releasing it.

It would be naive to assume that the opposition wouldn't use this to their advantage. Can't blame them... It's all in the timing..

If he is guilty of this, he should resign
To: VaRepublican
Man were a bunch of hypocrites.I hate reading the posts like "if it were a kennedy he'd get a pass".I DO NOT CARE WHICH PARTY HE IS FROM!!!!!!!.
Yes, what Congressman Foley did was wrong, he should have resigned and should be investigated for any possible criminal wrongdoing. But it is true that if he were a Democrat from Massachusetts, he could have sex with a 17-year-old male page, turn his back while getting censured by the House, refuse to resign and been continually reelected. There IS a double standard.
And then, if he were a Democrat the
Kos Kids would laud him like they do Gerry Studds (D-MA), who did just that:
On July 20, 1983, Gerry was censured for having an affair 10 years earlier with a male page. He turned his back as the charges against him were read. The anti-gay crew had worked hard to demonize him (as they would Barney Frank several years later over allegations of a male prostitute having clients in Frank's apartment). Gerry held a press conference with the page and admitted to a relationship. They each firmly stated that what had gone on in their bedroom was their business, and absolutely no one else's.

Having studied up on the gay agenda for many years, I have to stick with my own assessment. One of their main reasons for being Log Cabin R's is to promote the "gay" agenda. If their main purpose was fiscal conservativism, why not just be "regular" Rs?
And you know where the "Log Cabin" part comes from? Their lying contention that Abraham Lincoln was "gay" - a lie that has been flogged to death on FR over the years. Nothing like slandering the dead, another tactic outlined by gay activists.

Whoever had these IMs in '03 was "smart enough" NOT to release them for the '04 election (as Foley wasn't up for reelection *THAT* year), but rather knew to alert the media (just) prior to his '06 reelection (for maximum effect). Well if they are from '03 someone thought enough to keep the archives but Foley *WAS* up for election back in 2004 (all House members are reelected every 2 yrs) which makes this all that much more peculiar. If they truly thought there was a sexual predator in congress, keeping it hidden for 3 years is more than a little bit irresponsible.

You'll have to work at catching up. Some of us have hundreds. A day. Thanks, that makes me feel a wee bit better :)

Believe me you, I am not trying to make excuses for Foley, but I believe this part of the story is unbelievable for the reasons stated in previous posts. I agree with you, something doesn't seem to make sense. Of course it doesn't make sense to me that Foley would risk his career by knowingly chatting with under-aged boys so who knows.

Go to drudge and you can click on the whole conversation. It is alot more than flirty, especially this is between a teenage boy and a public official. I'm moritified. I'm glad he stepped down, instead of trying to pull a 'Clinton' and lie. That would make it even worse.
To: jdm
They're actually IMs; not emails...IMs? How reliable are they as far as proof? Can't someone photoshop them? Isn't the only way to save them screen shots?
Just curious, as I'm no computer expert.
To: penelopesire
not at all off-color, IMO.
I can't understand why in the world a guy like this can be so deceptive to the voting public; how he thinks he'll never be caught with his perversion and cyber molestation of young boys/men.
He's a hypocrite, a disgrace to the Republican Party, and I as a conservative I hope he is punished for his actions.
I could give a damn about the Kennedys. Multitudes of wrongs don't make immoral behavior right.....for anyone.
Disgusted from Fly Over Country. The RNC needs backup checks on their candidates. There's too much good ole boy covering up, IMHO.
