We've just begun a serious discussion at our house about whether we will withdraw from shopping at Wal-Mart. They are close by; we spend thousands of dollars there a year; but they have succumbed to pressure and are actively promoting the homosexual agenda and homosexual marriage. Just look at what they are doing in Idaho, where Family Leader is working hard to pass a state marriage protection amendment.
Enough is Enough
Wal-Mart Sponsoring Diversity Week
The following is a report from our friends at the American Family Association. We work in coalition with them on several projects through our Washington D.C. affiliation.
Wal-Mart has given its full endorsement to the homosexual agenda and homosexual marriage. Boise State University in Boise, Idaho, will observe LGBT Diversity Week October 9-13. One of the sponsors for the Diversity Week is Wal-Mart.
Wal-Mart is joining the Pleasure Boutique (an adult bookstore which bills itself as "Idaho's largest selection of adult movies and DVDs and largest adult toy selection in Idaho") and other groups in sponsoring the week. Diversity Week is a week of celebrating homosexuality and promoting the homosexual agenda and homosexual marriage.
Among the events being sponsored by Wal-Mart is Idaho Votes No Campaign Update and Information Workshop. Voters in Idaho will be voting on a constitutional amendment banning same sex marriage in November. This Wal-Mart sponsored event will inform voters how to oppose the amendment and how to get others to do so. Wal-Mart is putting their money behind the effort to legalize homosexual marriage.
Other events being sponsored by Wal-Mart: Gay History of Idaho, Diversity in the Workplace, Women's/Lesbian Issues, Hate Based Crimes, Heterosexism, Homosexuality and Disabilities, LGBT Youth in Trouble, MCC-Faith and LGBT, and a youth dance for those age 24 and under.
Wal-Mart is throwing their clout and cash behind the homosexual marriage effort.
The answer to your question is YES, it is of less quality. Talk to anyone that works at a supplier to WM and you'll find out that the cheaper price is for an inferior product.
Nowadays, no corporation can afford to show any type of discrimination against anyone. Any business with any brains has some kind of ethics course to "prove" they are aware of other life-styles. There are plenty of lawyers out there just waiting to get a big bite out of some Evil Corporation.
We have a Diversity Fair every year at work. It's basically an ethnic food fair, vehicle/motorcycle/car display, and free lunch that's a cut above the usual food.
good for you!
Sam Walton is prolly turning over in his grave. . .
"lead to the end of the traditional American family and the end of our society as it is today."
I know what you mean! Look at how society has ended Argentina, Brazil, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Israel, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom!
Woe unto us!
"Umm, what do you think you give them when you write a check???"
Paper checks are processed by a financial institution which has very specific rules about how they are handled. Their employees are very accountable.
The last time I did an echeck, someone at the retailer ran it through multiple times. Maybe they were incompetent, maybe they were a thief. It withdrew from my account successfully twice, then rejected on the third and subsequent tries. So, unbeknownst to me, the retailer turns me over for collection and VeriCheck flags all of my checks as bad. It takes hours in electronic phone systems of a sleazy collection agency to talk to a real person, who I find won't help me unless I promise to send them money. Eventually, I determine where the problems started, get my banking records and prove to the retailer that I did not write a bad check. Then nobody in the store knew how to correct the problem. Eventually, it takes a few weeks for the collection action to terminate and veriCheck to clear their records.
All told, a frustrating few weeks because I decided that a retailer was competent and reputable enough to trust with an echeck. Instead, they tried to rob me, ruined my credit and treated me like a criminal. None of this would have happened with a paper check processed through a bank.
Sorry, but I think banking should be left to the banks, not some retailer with minimum wage employees.
That makes a great deal of sense.
Well I'm sure some families exist that match what those who trump the concept have in mind. But it is indeed a myth that it was ever dominant in our society. It was once much more common on paper than it is now, but the underlying realities very often didn't match the idealistic stereotype. Many women were stuck with alcoholic dead-beat husbands, or were viewed as unmarriageable if they left them, because divorce was frowned upon -- and children were stuck in the miserable home. And most people didn't marry for love, they married out of economic necessity and lack of any other available marriage partners in their area, or due to the woman being pregnant. Now that there are lots of other options for how to arrange one's personal life, I suspect a much higher percentage of traditional-on-paper families are actually happy, functional family units, than in the past (there are just a lot fewer of them).
"What has Family Leader done by comparison, besides play political rope-a-dope games.
"
Well, they get folks all riled up about things so that those folks will donate money to them so they can rile up more people to donate money. That's what they do.

Wait! I get people riled up all the time and I never see any money out of it. Mostly they just throw stuff at me...
I don't care who shops at Wal-Mart, Target etc
the only issue of concern is "same-gender clout" a store is given, so if people choose not to shop at a store who they feel is deliberately undermining and make a mockery of the institution of marriage.
Nothing more!
Be precise please. In what way is a Black and Decker cordless drill purchased at WM different from the similar model purchased at Sears or any other outlet.
Where is the donate button MM heaven forbid they got their stamps covered!
Why should that be?

Does Sears sell B&D? I thought they only sold the better quality Craftsman & Milwaukee drills?
Actually, I imagine most gay people just want to be left alone to go about the lives. They don't need to be "celebrated" for their "diversity" any more than the rest of us.
Wouldn't it be nice if businesses stuck to doing BUSINESS and left politics out of it? I don't really care that Home Depot doesn't carry old growth lumber. I don't care if my kid's college sweatshirt is made in a factory where they pay $2 a day. I don't care who "celebrates diversity".
If I owned a business, there would be no "diversity", no "heritage" months, no "awareness" campaigns. Just provide goods and services economically and fairly and keep the politics out of it.
I once saw Jocelyn Elders say the exact same thing. She, also, had no proof, no statistics to back it up - she just stated it as fact, like "Everyone knew it".
Shall I post the stats showing that children of married parents have a FAR less occurrance of major pathologies, than say, children whose parents have chosen to arrange their lives in a single-parent home? After all, it's just another lifestyle choice - and nobody gets hurt, right?
You have a wicked keyboard :)
But marriage is a "special right" granted to people who prefer heterosexual relationships. We can't grant this "special right" to everyone else, because granting "special rights" to minorities is wrong and will destroy society!
Mass hysteria, widespread destruction, dog and cats living together in sin! Woe, the end of days is nigh!
