An absorbing account of one American Jew's journey from the Left to the Right. A wide-ranging interview by Frontpagemag's Jamie Glazov with Burt Prelutsky.

"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." -Manuel II Paleologus

My own book is coming out next week, titled "Liberals are From Uranus". Look for it at a Barnes and Noble near you.

...those who...devalue education, free speech, and a sense of humor.

Well said, but you forgot dogs and bacon. They don't appreciate those either.

It always amazes me how the leftists can actively side with the islamofascists. The same barbarians who would gladly kill every leftist they meet beginning with QUIT ("Queers for Palestine) and the "Boobs not Bombs" idiots.

Simply amazing.

(For the trolls) Hey leftists, how about siding with the good guys (thats the United States of America for those with BDS) for once in your worthless, pathetic lives?? If you can not do that, have the intestinal fortitude to leave the USA and join the terrorists in battle against us so we at least know where you traitors are (other than protesting in front of WRAMC). At least there you see the true nature of the fascist jihadists you claim to support, right before you are beheaded by them.

That seems to be the only way you leftist morons will see the truth of the WoT: Just as the headsman's knife slits your necks. Pathetic.

Prelutsky: I came to realize that, in spite of all the jokes about his napping during cabinet meetings, Ronald Reagan, who inherited 20% inflation and a 10% unemployment rate from Carter, and not only turned the economy around, but was influential in bringing the Cold War to a successful conclusion, accomplished more while he was sleeping than the Democrats did when they were wide awake. Or whatever passes for their being wide awake.

He really hit it. Reagan. That one word sums up why so many dems are now former dems. I was raised in a home with 2 Dem registered parents, my immigrant grandparents (2 of them Russian but not Jewish) were registered Dem once naturalized. Many of my other relatives, too. But I, as a new voter, registered Independent (creating a stir), then soon after switched to Republican, mostly because of Reagan. And because in my school years I was old enough to see the crazy world of the Carter years - inflation, gas rationing, unaffordable meat prices, cold houses, worst of all, Americans held hostage - but not old enough to vote. My mom was a DINO at best and she soon followed me to the Republican side.

"The underdog can be criminals in America or the Muslims in the Middle East. Be it Tookie Williams, a Palestinian suicide bomber, or a convicted pedophile, by aligning themselves with those that most normal Americans despise, they get to regard themselves as existing on a higher moral plain."

The underdog has been revered in America since the 50s, especially in films like Rebel Without a Cause. The rebel has an attraction outside the ordinary that appeals to youth and regular people who are bored or discontent with their 9 to 5 lifestyle. They admire disobedience and unconformity regardless of the moral content, that it takes courage and conviction to stand against the dominant forces and that people who exhibit this behavior are somehow more their own person -- a true individual with personality. This is all part of the great force in America to distinguish oneself, to become a star in some capacity -- sports star, rock star, movie star, a rising star in every field. People admire people who have made it to the top by the force of their personality though they may have done it through vulgar or disreputable means. Unfortunately, this individualism or the American frontier spirit can take a dark turn very quickly if unchecked -- but people who live what they think is a dull, parochial life rarely appreciate that fact. In the end, their admiration is a form of romanticism gone astray.
