Yup, and I am not sure that this is some kind of common prank in the boonies. I have been through about half of a search of "deer head mailbox" on google and have yet to find a similar incident. That's the only one so far*, and it just happened to occur in his media market right before he started floating this story, which was shortly after the other principal conviently died.

I don't care that he has M.D. after his name, this is just too much coincidence when you factor in his political leanings and anti-tobacco activism.

* There was one other incident where someone broke a fake ornamental deer on someone's lawn and put the parts in the mailbox. Hardly the same.

It's certainly no guarantee of rational thinking nor honorable behavior. After all, Howard Dean has M.D. after his name, too.

I live in West Tenn. Every other mail box, yard, and pickup , not to mention thousands of shirts, caps and just about anything else you can think of has a deer either in it or on it.

I'm a mathematician, and when I'm feeiling particularly arrogant, I say that M.D. stands for "Mediocre Doctorate".

I just think it's more than a coincidence that the only incident of deerheads in mailboxes that we can find happened earlier this year in this guy's backyard (relatively speaking).
