you are wrong about Tancredo. He's our guy, conservative and the one of few long voices on immigration law enforcement.

So we have a New McCain butt clown here. Hey Tommy, better go see what happened to your hero in the Senate when he tried being a "maverick". Sit down and shut up. This is NO time for your personal political ego to be getting in the way.

Just another Washington pol trying to keep his one issue alive in the vain hopes that will some how win him the nomination.

Hey Tommy, trying to derail the current Republican momentum and prevent ANY thing being done in the absurd notion that helps your chances in 2008 is a guaranteed political suicide trip. There are times to fight and times to DO, this is a DO time. You can go back to your temper tantrum AFTER the election

tancredo continues to cross the line.
He could be a good guy but he's reading too much of his own press clippings.
He's only getting ink right now because he's against Bush..get that through your thick head Tom.

Me neither!... so I hope congress who is listening to our concerns (my side) on securing the border FIRST... keep vigilant of him.

As much as it sickens me to listen to a clasless, clown, sob like Chavez take shots at GWB, I am also concious of the president's failure in handling the border/Illegals the right way.

What capital Tom had built with me is now gone. I just happen to trust President Bush more than ANY member of congress.

There is a time to fight and a time to DO, this is DO time and if Tancredo is too politically stupid to know when to rock the boat and when to buckle down and get something done he is too stupid to be President.

And it doesn't matter what all the 1 issue Freepers think, WE,not them, nominate the candidate. It people like ME, not the one issue Fingers who nominate the Republican candidate. When you piss us off you lose the Republican base. It is not enough to fire up the true believers, you have to get people like ME on your side too. If TT cannot see this, he is doomed to never be anything more then a Congress Critter.

Republicans do not reward PR whores. McCain learned this in the last week, Tommy will learn if he doesn't grow up.

WHO ASKED HIM?.. GOOD GAWD.. Tancredo is the Republican version/curse, of a narcissistic, love starved, lonely, Bubba Clinton..

Hey Tancredo, please join McNutt and run for President in 2008 so we can whip your irrelevant a$$ and get you off our radar/TV screen.. :)

That's not the word that comes to mind. But then, I know him. He's a great guy and a smart, principled, small-government conservative. You couldn't ask for a better congresscritter.

The usual suspects can put their hands over their ears an scream denials all they want. It does them no good. The facts do not change just because the One Issue Freepers do not want to hear them. To win the Presidency you have to be able to build a coalition of different interest groups.TT cannot do this.

His "my way or the highway" mindestindicates he have NO interest in being anything but an Always Angry Bomb thrower. It the same mindset that managed to get Pat Buchanan 1% of the vote in 2000.

Therefore, he is making himself completely irrelevant to any group that actually wants to get some things done.

Immigration is AN issue. IT is NOT THE issue no matter how many manufacture polls various activist groups put together to validate their own opinions. Americans have a number of things they want delt with. A crowd of people who ONLY can scream endlessly about Immigration is NOT going to go anywhere in American politics. You have to be able to build coalitions. TT could be building coalition by leading here but would rather throw bombs at people actually getting things done.

It is the same political mistake McCain made.

Can't agree more on Tancredo's call for local and state level enforcment of illegal immigration. The feds will dither with the same old shell game. To give credit where it's due; the house of representatives has been trying to do something but the rats and rino's in the senate will block any and all efforts that doesn't give amnesty to illegals.

In Az. we have a chance to unseat a rat governor Janet Napolitano by electing Len Munsil who's main campaign promise is to shut the border and punish employers/landlords that hire illegals. Unfortunately, Munsil is down in the polls right now and our fish-wrap newspaper the Arizona Republic (also known as the Arizona Repulsive) is in the tank for Napolitano.

Hmmm.. McCain Vs Tamcredo... what is the difference in my eyes?

Rush always says "follow the money." I say "follow the backers," the constituency they are playing to, so to speak, Traitor McCain, what ever the does, his audience seems always be: THE LEFT plain and simple. The MSM, The liberal left (the RATS love him!... homosexuals think he is the KEY to defeat the religious right). He seems to be more concerned about Europe's opinion of the US, rather than putting our own forces first. I sincerely wonder why he has not turned Democrat already :)... my only conclusion is that he is more helpful to the left as a "Republican."

Tamcredo on the other hand... who is he playing for? Not the MSN, not the left, not Europeans, no the ACLU/HOMOSEXUALS... I feel this guy is playing to ME.. and all those who love this country and want some kind of common sense when dealing with the security/Immigration of this country.

Something else, as an "American/Hispanic," I put America first. I want the US to choose whom we want in this country (Mexicans, Africans, Polish... whatever is in OUR INTEREST!). On the other hand, as a "Hispanic," I would like them to come to this country through the "front door" LEGALLY... w/o being used like modern slaves, abused and dispossessed of their dignity (trust me I know something about this).

If our industries need laborers, say "vegetables pickers" or "bathroom cleaners," well, let's create some kind of program where find people willing to do these tasks for a number of years and go back to their countries. OR... I would even go furthe and consider other options, like if someone cleans bathrooms for 5 years... and they LEARN ENGLISH and keep their nose clean, maybe we should offer them a mechanism to become legal residents (Not citizenship... that is something else), and find a better job, etc etc etc. Canada I hear has a programs like these.

Many things can be done... many... but the beginning has to be LEGAL ENTRY INTO THE US... and that begins with SECURING THE BORDER so that we get control of who comes into the country.

Now, Am I crazy?.... doesn't this sound based on common sense?

Tancredo: 'I Don't Trust the President' on Border Security

In my eyes, it's not a matter of trust in the President.
It's a matter of agreeing or disagreeing with his policies.

I trust the President to do what he says he will do. This is not the President saying he will "certify" the borders security. This is a bill saying the President will "certify" the borders security before instituting a "guest worker" program.
If the President says he WILL certify the borders security, I trust the President, this one at least, to do so.

Do I agree with all the Presidents immigration policies? No.
Do I trust him to do what he says he will do? Yes.

After decades of "wink and a nod" and "catch and release" border enforcement I don't trust the federal government on border enforcement either.

That's why millions of Americans want a couple years of demonstrated secured borders before we talk about a guest worker or citizenship plan.
