Remember the Titans. Watched it a couple of weeks ago with my dad. I am so not a football fan, it isn't funny, but this was a terrific movie that just happened to be about football players.

Absolutly LOVED that movie! One of the better ones I've seen.

Hugz back!

I am good. About ready to hit the sack.

United 93 was intense and brought back a bunch of feelings that needed bringing back out for me.

USHPIZIN http://www.ushpizin.com
SYNOPSIS:
"Moshe (Shalom Rand) and Mali (Michal Bat Sheva Rand) are a poor and barren Orthodox couple living in a religious neighbourhood of Jerusalem. On the Jewish Holy day of Succoth (a reminder of the temporary wood dwellings used by Jews during the Exodus) they receive unexpected guests: two escaped convicts, one a friend of Moshe's from his shady secular past, the other his cellmate (Shaul Mizrahi, Ilan Ganani). Moshe and Mali believe that their guests were sent to them by God as a test of faith. A real tough test."

This is the best foreign film I've seen in ages. It binds the Abraham/Sarah theme with the holiday of Succoth, so pertinent to the faith we need in these times of Islamo/Ishmael facism. All people of faith must see this movie.

Do DVD/home viewings count? If so, the first movie that comes to mind is "Crash" (no, NOT the one with James Spader). This is the only movie that has ever made me get up and start walking out of my own home theater (you know the scene I'm talking about if you've seen the movie). It was THAT intense. I don't want to give too much away so I'll leave it at that.

When the DVD is out, I'll be sending a copy to one of the Stryker groups. They apparently enjoy receiving recently released DVDs.

Little Miss Sunshine

Sadly there is some harsh language and a couple of mature situations, making it inaccessible to younger family members. My granddaughters can't see this for 10 or 15 years but would probably love the story sooner. But the script is great, the acting is wonderful, and I believe the directors did a fabulous job. One recognizes familiar devices used just a bit differently or somewhat better than before throughout the flick. Think of the doting grandfather, the insufferable father, the child with big dreams, and many more. They are all presented with a different twist. Loved it!
