Iran's President to address UN General Assembly at about 630 pm... Expected to explain why it needs nuclear program and why the world should back off...
Yeah, I agree that Ahmadinejad won't make a deal to close down his nuke program, except if he thinks Iran will definitely be bombed or invaded by the US. For a deal to occur before a vote to authorize force in the US congress, Ahmadinejad is going to have to lose some power and influence in Iran. If he's still making key decisions in Iran all through 2007, then this is going to go to the brink of a military strike and it could end in war.
Hmmm... I might have to study Dylan some. Never took much of a liking to his work, but it migh be worth a second look.
I was just joking around. I often do such things when I'm bored and feel like getting yelled at lol.
Effective to whom?
For a while the Iranian President sounded like an American liberal, making the point that America is the only country to have used nuclear weapons in war. The Islamists are learning to use the language of the left -- he said a lot of "peace and justice" clap-trap. He praised Islamic terrorists, condemned the U.S., Britain, and the "Zionists." I think the heart of his speech was his demand that there be three new entities on the UN Security Council: the Non-Aligned nations, the Islamic nations, and the African nations. These three would have veto power. That way, the Security Council would just rubber stamp whatever the Islamists want. The last part of his speech was creepy -- someday the world will be "monotheistic" (Islamic) and people will be, what was his word, "perfected"? I take that to mean that everyone will live under Sharia and people who are less than "perfect" will be killed, just like in Iran. I haven't checked the leftist blogs but I am sure they are all saying what a nice religious man this Islamic dictator is.
You're welcome.
:-)
Dang...all of this is caused by their support of the insurgents in Iraq and he blames the U.S. Amazingly brazen....
Did not see any of his speech, but found it fascinating last night on H & C, colmes was more in agreement with this nut than our own president. Kept saying how Bush used "fear". That must be the latest talking point or they are the biggest dang scardy cats I've ever heard of. They make me sick.
And then they wonder why they are losing support and credibility!!
I just hate liberals.
The liberals think that someone who says they are going to kill you and take over your civilization in a pleasant tone of voice is reasonable, even if it is the voice of a translator.
Ironic, but true.
I truly believe the bottem line is that these liberals hate anything Bush more than they love their own country.
They have lost all reason and perspective. They focus on Bush's words, tearing them apart and misrepresenting them, totally ignoring, not just the words, but the intentions of that murderous, maniacal nutjob.
I honest to goodnes believe that liberals are the ruin of this nation.
Two words to live by: LOCKED, LOADED
No, I think they are so misguided they can't see or hear the truth.
Bush talked about Freedom in his speech. Clearly, truthfully and with all the bumps, bruises, and battles laid out for all to see. A real and true freedom that respects all peoples.
Ahmahdinajad talked about Truth, Justice and Peace through Sprituality. Except he deceived millions by his speech. Liberals are all about themselves in regards to truth, justice, and the whole Make Peace Not War movement. What he so elusively left out was a direct naming of the path to peace, his version of peace which is the institution of islamic law, the coming Mahdi, and caliphate.
Many have said they felt they were listening to the anti-christ. He is not the anti-christ, but the more I hear from this guy the more I think he is the prophet of the devil. Like John the Baptist was for Jesus.
What we see so clearly, the liberals have been blinded from seeing due to their unchecked hatred.
Evil is indeed walking amongst us.
Very well said. I totally agree. They are blinded by whatever reason.
Did you actually listen to ahmahdinajad's speech? I have not heard it and would like a better idea of what he actually said.
That's right. The average American is not part of the military or civil defense structure. The average American is to continue shopping at the mall and go to work like nothing is goping on. When the time comes the average American will be conscripted into the military organization, which is probably just as well since the mall will be shut down. Confusion will occur until everybody finds his niche in the new regimented version of daily life.
Post 970 has the speech in it's entirety. It is a must read.
PSS...
I did watch the speech live on CNN last night. Startled as I was by it, reading it with all the caps in words like Truth...makes it even more worrisome. As he is not discussing the secular ideas of truth, justice, spirit...
Yikes, I think we are talking about different things.
