Welcome to the FReeper Canteen! We're honored to have you with us for another weekend of fun, music, and amusement. We hope that you enjoy the selections provided at the top of the thread and throughout the entire thread. If you love our military, currently or served in the past, we hope you feel comfortable. Thank you for your service to our country. To our allies, thank you for all you do by standing with us!!

Until you return home, we're here!!

How this works!

1. Selections are provided for the enjoyment of our Troops, Veterans, Allies, and their family members. They're priority numero uno! Got it?

2. You can request music via the thread by pinging laurenmarlowe. She does this for free because she doesn't know any better. However, please be patient and treat her well and she'll load up your request for our Troops. Thanks!

**Please ping laurenmarlowe (Requests Diva) for any music requests you may have for our Troops. GodBlessUSA (Thank you for a fabulous job last weekend as a junior sweeper!!) is also available to help with music requests!
Remember to be nice when requesting songs or Ma will send you to the corner without blinking!

3. If you are just a lurker and not a member of FR, you are welcome to send us requests via email at musicrequests4u@gmail.com . Please put *Music Request* in the subject line. If we don't get back to you right away, please don't fret. We'll get there. These threads tend to fly! If you're a FReeper, ping laurenmarlowe or do it via FReepmail. Please help us free up the email for lurkers!

4. Not all music will be appropriate for kids. We welcome families to enjoy the music, but the ULTIMATE RESPONSIBILITY lies with you and not us. If you click on something and are offended, that's on you. We try to provide ample warning, but it's your mouse and decision.

5. Want to tick us off quickly? Hotlink our music! That is an absolute no-no! This is provided free of charge to our Troops, Veterans, Allies, and their families. Hotlinking takes bandwidth that could be given to them.

You know...you don't have to do this to yourself. We all come here to talk to one another and tell each other our problems. That is what family does. It doesn't take away from your love of the troops. As a matter of fact, they like seeing us here being like a big family and loving one another. My prayers go out to you and your family for your loss. It's important that we support one another so that we will have the strength to support the troops who keep us safe so we CAN be free to say what we wish.

I hope you read this before you go, and change your mind. We are here for you, just as you would be here for us. If you have some things to say that you don't want everyone to "hear", there is always the "private" reply in FReepmail where we go to pray and encourage one another, too.

Please don't leave. I enjoy reading your posts. Your support of & respect for the military is quite obvious to me, and as a military mom, I appreciate it.

I have shed tears on this thread many times. It is not always related to my soldier boy, either. We all have life situations which cause us distress, grief, and despair. I thank God for people like these Canteeners who are always here to dry my tears, give me a hug, make me laugh...........

We can always use more caring, wonderful people in our lives. So..............please don't leave.

I cried a bit at your answer because, it is how I felt.

The song "Kill Myself" struck a nerve, I should have kept my mouth shut..but, I wanted to say something - because I felt like "family". But even in family, things should go unsaid.

I don't want to leave the Canteen..but..I am embarrassed..I DO support our troops, but I lost focus.

I'd like to work it out if ya'll don't think I'm some kind of flake.

My brother was a Soldier in Vietnam. I don't want to leave,but I made it about ME, even though it was really about HIM.

My brother was my protector..but he left to protect this country..his end, was just not..right. He never knew he was a hero.

See? there I go again..God Bless our troops, and may God help me keep my big mouth shut!

God rest the soul of your brother who is one of our fallen heroes. It matters not how or when he fell...he was a victim of the war just like they all are. You need to talk about him...he is a part of your life and you love him so much.
