LOL Ain't that the truth.

And the part about being stored miles away from the White House.

What are the folks at ABC are calling for?

Road checkpoints at all major highway arteries?

Fascist with a velvet glove or yellow "Have a nice day" smiley face stickers?

Fools.

I thought one of the great lessons was how everyone in government simply wants to cover their asses. Total aversion to risk in the face of high rewards.

"NO WAY! I've seen this character actor before..."

He looks like Raymond Massey from the old Dr. Kildare TV series.

Maybe part of the problem was that due to Algore's bitterness the Bush Administration tried to heal the wounds and work that non-partisan stuff that obviously didn't hold anyway. Clarke, Tenet and others were holdovers from Bubba. Big mistake from my armchair here in hindsight-land.

I saw her interviewing Hillary as I walked by the door. Didn't stop to listen, that vile woman makes me retch just looking at her.

BillyJeff made me ill before. But I don't think I'll ever look at Mr. Hillary's face again without feeling like vomiting.

Then, she picked out a stuffed dog and a bear. I then explained why she couldn't send these.

Why not? Our family sent 100's of flat rate boxes to Iraq, Afghanistan, and other places where we have troops. We went through Any Soldier and they often requested stuffed animals for the local children.

Just did a google on Barbara Bodine and hit on some really interesting stuff.

Did yall know that former Dir of the CIa, Helms, had a daughter who was the pr person for the Taliban??

Anyway alot of conflicting info on Bodine. Some say she was a stooge of the Bushes {!!}, others say a fall guy for the conservatives. Interesting conspiracy stuff.

But she is alive and well at MIT. The oddest thing was that Bush appointed her to be the "governor" of Baghdad after the war and she lasted three weeks. Then Bremer sacked her.

Amazing stuff.

Thanks for the quote. It is a great one. I did miss your earlier post. I did not read much of the early part during the show.

Just wanted to add my two cents-

I seems to me that the most important part of this movie is not where to place the blame for 9/11 but what must be done in the future and how vital it is we do it to prevent another series of attacks. Throughout the movie, there were many many subtle but noticeable messages about what really went wrong. Among others, it was clear how easy it was for the hijackers to get inside the country. There was the FISA situation where they didn't feel they had enough evidence to go to the court. The not-so-subtle Gorelick Wall...the list goes on.

I know I'm gonna take heat for saying it, but I truly don't blame Bill Clinton for 9/11. Could he have stopped it? Likely. Should he have tried harder to stop it? Without a doubt. 9/11 was truly a failure of imagination, and I'm as guilty of the sin of not reading the writing on the wall as everyone else was.

The important message to walk away from was not where to point the finger (though I feel it did, and justifiably so) but what to do in the future. I would define this movie as successful not if it scored political points for the president (and I hope it will) but if it serves as an impetus for people to become serious about fighting the war on terror.

LOL .. I thought she LOOKED better than Halfbright, 'til she opened her mouth and that elitist patrician, political attitude started spilling out... especially protecting Bubba. Her attitude made her really UGLY to me. And to think she actually got suckered in by his lies about Monica .. and defended him then, too .. hehehe. Fooled again, Halfbright.

They obviously don't know about the feed store owner in Norman, OK, who called the cops - I take that back, he didn't have to, a cop was already in the store - about our OU bomber, Hinrichs, when *he* tried to buy a fair amount of AN.

Maybe Okies are just a *wee bit* more attuned to the AN bomb "thing."

The movie definitely caught the demeanor and hangups of Ambassador Bodine. John Miller's book, "The Cell," covered more details, but a decade has to be squeezed into five hours, so compression has to happen. I thought the movie did a surprisingly good job. BTW, Bodine had an ill-fated three weeks of service as the "mayor" of Baghdad, at the beginning of the Iraq war.
