Did anyone else see the exchange between President Bush and the Today show's Matt Lauer this morning on the Today show?
I tuned in near the end, and it looked pretty intense. Lauer was a very aggressive in his hand gestures, repeatedly pointing a stern finger into the president's chest. Almost looked like it would turn physical. Would appreciate a link to any online video.
Maybe you should write him and tell him, prairie...........help that 'mind' to be lost...... ;)
Lauer was made to stand for the interveiw? LOL!
Frankly Lauer isn't worth one split second of the POTUS's time, but I know he has to talk to these worms. How Pres Bush must laugh at them to himself.
We need more interview subjects to do that to these "gotcha" journalist jackasses.
Oh, if the Republican party were made up exclusively of Arlen Specter, John McCain and Lincoln Chafee, they'd love the GOP!
What he and his advisors fail to discern is that this media are owned and operated by his worst enemies, and he never, ever gives an interview to them that ends up helping his cause.
Even a Bush basher ought to be able to conclude that if your first premise is correct (and it is) that same media will see to it that under no circumstances will he be protrayed in a positive way NO MATTER HOW WELL HE DOES.
This does not mean the president should avoid doing interviews because even a Bush basher ought to be able to conclude that the headlines then would read "Bush Mum with Press" "Reclusive Bush Won't Stand to Press Scrutiny". What is a better image to project to the American public?
You give little credit to the national audience to be able to draw their own conclusions. But perhaps it's mostly the Bush bashers and moonbats who have the most difficulty in doing this.
Lauer is just angry because Katie's replacement makes more than he does. He's simply displacing his anger where he can. Poor little fella. Ratings probably dropping too.
"Why would Bush appear on that show today?"
How many converts does one get just preaching to the choir? The same stands for why we are in Iraq and the Middle East, sometimes you have to take the fight to the enemy.
And that's saying something......
Actually, I've read far dumber comments...
I've seen much worse too, but most of those posters are no longer with us. :)
Yep. Political correctness forced on us by the Left may very well get tens of thousands of us killed one day. I think we should water-board Lauer just so he could learn the difference between that and real torture -- you know, like when you have your head crudely sawed off by some Islamic fanatic with a dull, dirty knife.
