He understands this about our international foes, but I'm not sure W will ever learn that about the Donks.

Was Lauer waving his man purse at him?

It's European

What struck me, along with the tone of the interview, was the extreme close up of the camera to President Bush. It was almost as if they were trying to get the most unflattering angle they could. Literally an "in your face" interview.

I just watched it. President looked in control at all times. Lauer looked weak. President touched Lauer at least twice. I think after the first time Lauer got an order to use his pen trick on the President.

Lauer had a trick of using the pen held like a cigarette to look like a pointing finger. The phony pointing finger looked weak and puny, so did stupid follow-up questions. Matt was clearly flummoxed because he unable to drive the President to his knees begging for forgiveness and promising to change his ways.

nbc when brokaw was around, used to be the most fair of the networks.

LOL. Broke-jaw and his gang??? Not likely. His liberal ideals is one of the reasons why I switched to watching Brit.

I didn't watch it, but apparently Brian Williams got a little too up close and personal too a few weeks ago when he was interviewing Bush about Katrina ...

I saw that segment and Brian Williams did point his finger at the President's chest ... had it been possible to reach thru the TV screen and slap that arrogant, rude, POS silly I would have ... didn't see the Lauer interview, however, it now appears that in order to conduct what your liberal peers in the media consider an aggressive interview you are expected to point your finger at the President in a accusatory fashion. The President had better come up with a strong response and not let this become a trend.

Who the hell does this guy think he is?

That won't go over well with the soccer moms who watch Today.

Lauer is pathetic..just like his Dem counterparts. Reminded me of the film last night 9/11...fighting a "more sensitive war". Get out of the way you wussies and let real men lead. Nush is man up in this video interchange with Lauer. Elect Dems at our own peril.

I loved the video, because I think more Americans who needed to hear what the President has to say, finally heard it. We all know that the moonbats won't listen to FOX or Rush, etc. but they do watch the Today show (I don't). I thought the President was the one who controlled the interview and made the idiot look like ........an idiot. Maybe, just maybe, some of the ill-informed people got the message, "I'm trying every way I know how to protect the American people."

Thanks for the link to the video. I thought Bush came across very well. In a way, I credit Lauer for asking questions that allowed Bush to makes his points, over and over.

Like others, I found Russert disrespectful of Chaney. Worse, he more-or-less called some of Chaney's responses lies. As a result, Chaney didn't come across as well as Bush did in the Lauer interview IMHO.

I just watched the link.

In sports, referees are not supposed to become part of the game.

And in News, reporters are not supposed to be part of the story.

Lauer was intent on making himself part of the story. He wanted to be on equal footing with the president. No one voted for you matt. You are not equal with the president.

I'd be happy to take care of the President's light work any time, any day, anywhere.

Almost looked like it would turn physical.

I bet W would have kicked his ass if it came to blows.

Lauer came off stupid. When Lauer mentioned Amnesty International as the INTERNATIONAL EXPERT, Bush castrated Lauer.

W should have said, "If you don't get that finger outta my face, you're gonna pull back a nub!"...........

Or as my mother said to my sister after mom opened a big box of Godivas that I gave her,

"Reach into this box and retract a bloody stump."
