A majority of Canadians believe U.S. foreign policy was one of the root causes that led to the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, and Quebecers are quicker to criticize the U.S. administration for its international actions than other Canadians, a recent poll suggests.
Those conclusions are found in a newly released poll conducted by Léger Marketing for the Association for Canadian Studies.
The poll suggests that 77 per cent of Quebecers polled primarily blame American foreign policy for the Sept. 11 attacks. The results suggest 57 per cent in Ontario hold a similar view.
Canadian opinions have hardened against the United States and its role on the world stage, said Jack Jedwab, executive director of the Association for Canadian Studies. The wars in Afghanistan and Iraq have contributed to a change of heart among people, he said.

Yes.
Another place I can add to my list of countries I will never again visit. And trust me, that's no big loss. I can't say as I've ever enjoyed a trip to Canada, with the sole exception being maybe the kitschy Niagra Falls.
Exactly. Thank you.
Hmm, where are those posters that attacked me a week or so ago when I said many Americans despise Canadians? Perhaps we have good reason to.
6 Million out of 32 Million.
BTW, it's Canadians, not Canadiens.
:-)
My husband and son use to vacation together in Toronto. They haven't been back since 9/11.
The Canadian left will, just as your left does now.
I'm here Whacko.
Maybe. But a poll reported by the Canadian MSM is not one of them.
I've got lots of Canadian friends who are quite conservative. Most of them I met over the years at Michigan International Speedway.
"When participants were given the option of choosing more than one cause for the attacks, two-thirds blamed Islamic fundamentalists and their anti-Western views, while a third pointed the finger at Israel and its position in the Middle East"
I was at a social event where someone kept saying that 9/11 happened because we invaded Iraq. When some others shook their head in agreement I had to remind them of the sequence of events. A long silence followed.
I use to hunt and fish in Canada, haven't been back since 9/11.
Canada's foreign policy must be really bad as well. Just recently there was a terror plot to blow up Parliament and cut off the head of the Prime Minister. Do Canadiens suffer from mass amnesia?
Don't forget that the terrorists that hijacked the planes at Logan Airport in Boston entered the country from Canada, using a ferry connecting Nova Scotia with Maine. Prior to 9-11, U.S. - Canadian crossings were not checked too well by the Border Patrol. In their defense, the Canadian military has performed well against the terrorists in Afghanistan.
"What is the matter with the world? Why are they abandoning and isolating us? "
Take a deep breath. Now think about it, where does much of this "information" about the world hating America come from? The MSM?
The DNC/MSM would like you to believe the whole world hates us, and that America is always wrong, (as long as a republican is president).
Besides, I don't give a rat's behind who likes us... let's just do what's right.
and if the poll was in bagdad, they would probably bat 75%
