9/11: Five years later Typecasting Muslims as a Race
The San Francisco Chronicle ^ | September 3, 2006 | Matthai Chakko Kuruvila, Chronicle Religion Writer

As the war on terror heads into its sixth year, a new racial stereotype is emerging in America. Brown-skinned men with beards and women with head scarves are seen as "Muslims" -- regardless of their actual faith or nationality.

Law enforcement measures, politicians, religious leaders and the media have contributed to stereotyping Muslims as a race -- echoing the painful history of another faith.

I have listened to many Muslim American leaders being interviewed on TV. NOT ONCE have I heard convincing, unequivocal denunciations of Islamofacism. When 9/11 rolls around, I will be anxiously awaiting such repudiations, but I won't be holding my breath.....

More "Muslim" as in imposing Sharia law - and its brutal consequences.

The facts are against me?

Really.

The vast majority of Muslim majority counties are hell holes. At war with the minority of non Muslims among them until they die or leave.

Are you a Muslim?

Need I bring to your attention that Christians (For being Christians) are being MURDERED right now in Chechnya, Bangladesh, Nigera, Iraq, Egypt (El-Kosheh), Pakistan , Sudan and even New Jersey.

No need to bring that to my attention. I am well aware.

Except for Bangladesh and New Jersey. What's going on there?

Please also not that Muslims (for being Muslims) are being MURDERED right now in Chechnya, Nigeria, Iraq, Pakistan, and Sudan. I don't know about Egypt, Bangladesh and New Jersey, although I'm sure a few members of the Nuke Mecca Crowd live in New Jersey.

Given that definition, Mali and Senegal are not "more Muslim" although they have more Muslims in their population.

The facts are against me?

Yes.

Really.

Really.

The vast majority of Muslim majority counties are hell holes.

That's your opinion. But "hell hole" is a subjective category anyway.

. At war with the minority of non Muslims among them until they die or leave.

This is certainly the case in some Muslim-majority countries. Definitely not all.

Are you a Muslim?

No. Are you?

It's hardly surprising that some who loathes all Muslims (your post #35) and damns their prophet and their holy book to Hell (again, your post #35) might be so blinded by rage that he refuses to recognize these very denouciations he says he's looking for.

Christian murdered by Muslims in Bangladesh for proselytizing
To his killers, Dulal Sarkar was just a dhimmi who got out of line. What was that again about the dhimma being a thing of the past? "Bangladesh Baptist Pastor Killed by Extremists after Attempt to Share Faith," from Christian Today, with thanks to Kaoskntrl:

A Baptist pastor and evangelist was found beheaded in Jalalpur, a village in the district of Khulna, south-western Bangladesh on 8th March and the murder was confirmed recently, according to AsiaNews.it.
The 35-year-old pastor from the Bangladesh Free Baptist Church, Dulal Sarkar, was believed to have been killed by Muslim extremists who had threatened his family because he discussed his faith with some Muslim villagers.

According to AsiaNews.it, Pastor Sarkar, who served as a guard and general caretaker for the local church, had attempted to evangelise Muslim villagers and brought them to his church to talk with the senior pastor.

The murder occurred on 8th March on his way home after he talked to some Muslim villagers. He was reported to have been attacked by group of armed men. Sources say that it was a group of ten local Muslim extremists who later "separated his head from his body", AsiaNews.it wrote.

Immediately after the murder, Pastor Sarkar’s wife filed a police report. Currently, seven out of the ten suspects are still free, according to AsiaNews.it. Local Christians believed that they are connected with the Jamaat-e-Islami political party and even tried to bribe the police to get the three detained members out of jail.

Militant Muslims “Order Hit” on
Christian Leader in Bangladesh
August 11th, 2006 at 10:48 am (Uncategorized)

The Voice of the Martyrs is reporting in their August 8, 2006 e-mail newsletter that on the morning of April 14th, 4 bus drivers were hired by a militant Muslim group to use their busses to murder a prominent local Voice of the Martyrs person. Thankfully the attack was unsuccessful and the man escaped with only broken bones and severe lacerations.

I don't see a problem with the (even if it is almost non-existent) profiling because it would be better than staying blind to telltale factors. Regardless of whether they can recruit nontraditionals, keeping an eye on the traditionals while also spending the resources in finding the non-traditionals would still net terrorists still trying to slip through.

During the cold war, the US was always evolving and advancing their technology, especially in ECM and radar technology. The Russians did this too, but they also never threw anything away. The low frequency radars from the 50s became the stealth hunters in the 90s. The US? They dropped much of that in the 70s and 80s.....

Ethnic Cleansing In Bangladesh

Ethnic cleansing of minorities in Bangladesh (then East Pakistan) started in 1947. Over half-a-century has passed with no end is in sight. Minorities in Bangladesh, including women and children were subjected to extreme brutality and torture following the last National Election in Bangladesh held in October 2001, forcing many families to migrate out of their "Homeland of generations" for physical safety.

Fig: Kamala Debi of Lord Hardinge under district Vola lost every thing due to barberious attack of communalist hooligans on Oct 10, 2001

In the recent past, there have been several cases of brutal killings of prominent members of minority communities in the strategic Chittagong and its Hill Tracts, by armed gang of Islamic fanatics. Significantly, these tragic incidents were perpetrated in the wake of Santu Larma - Khaleda Zia high-level talks at Dhaka on April 20, for establishing permanent peace in the said region. That very day in Rangamati (CHT), an armed gang of Bnp-Jei backed ‘United People’s Democratic Front’ (Updf) attacked pro-Larma Chakma tribals resulting in the death of four Chakma Buddhists. Next day (April 21), at Vill. Hingla in Rouzan locality of Chittagong, Gyanjyoti Borooah (55 yrs), a locally popular Buddhist Monk, running an Orphanage / Monastery was brutally killed. Thereafter on April 28/29, another Chakma Buddhist named Gyandarshi Chakma was shot dead at village Babupara in Mahalchhari (Cht). One of his companion sustained bullet wounds. The same night, Madan Gopal Goswami, a Hindu Priest of was gunned down in Gachhabil area of Manikchhari (Cht). These cases of utmost brutality generated strong resentment among local Chakmas and Hindus.

N.J.: Hossam Armanious and his family

Both the county prosecutor and the spokesman for Pope Shenouda III said that the Armanious family was killed in a robbery. The kilers were caught on an ATM camera withdrawing money from Armanious's bank account. And if there was another motive, it was most likely not the Armonious family's faith, given that how the suspects -- 30 year old Hamilton Sanchez and 25 year old Edward McDonald -- were most likely nominal Christians. And certainly not (as you may have been implying) Muslims.

That's terrible. Thanks for this information, as awkward as that phrase may be when the "information" in question deals with brutal murders.

In the future, please try to post references (this one and #69 are missing URLs) when you cut and past news stories from the internet.

"Edward" is a Christian name. "Sanchez" is a surname common among Christians in Mexico and the Spanish-speaking Carribean.

Sanchez is also a Portuguese Jewish name.
Christopher Columbus's patron Gabriel Sanchez was Jewish.
