First of all it is a funny story because the intial leak comes from the French...I think there could be money to be made by making a map similar to a "Where's Waldo" but name it "Where's Osama"...and to make it even more interesting create a reality show where special forces can make millions based on who finds him first.

Actually, I'd think that there'd be a significant interest in a ping list to this thread that was more limited to the more dramatically urgent; alarmingly concrete; vividly obvious precursors of horrific future events. The whole thread is usually too much for many of us with raging other priorities to read every post on very often, if at all.

Taliban says bin Laden alive

Dubai-based Al Arabiya television on Tuesday quoted a Taliban official as saying al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was alive and in good health.

The Arabic channel said its Pakistan bureau had received a call from the unnamed Taliban official a few days after a leaked French secret document said Saudi intelligence believed bin Laden died last month in Pakistan.

"The official said bin Laden was alive and that reports that he is ill are not true," said Bakr Atyani, Al Arabiya's Islamabad correspondent. "The Taliban checked with members who are close to al Qaeda that these reports are baseless."

Negroponte: US watching for Al Qaida in Lebanon:

US Director of National Intelligence John Negroponte said Friday that the US was considering the possibility that Al Qaida could expand its operations to Lebanon, Israel Radio reported.
Negroponte said the possibility of Al Qaida's cooperating with Hizbullah could not be ruled out, despite the fact that Al Qaida is a Sunni organization and Hizbullah is Shi'ite.

Al Qaida's number two, Ayman Al Zawahiri, in a video marking the fifth anniversary of the September 11 attacks, called on Muslims to fight "Zionist forces" in south Lebanon, and "set up a jihad base on the borders of Palestine."

BHL has obtained a copy of a letter from Janey Carpenter, Manager of Consumer Affairs that states 7-11 Stores are ending their 20-year supply agreement with CITGO Petroleum Corp.

According to Carpenter, the contract ends next week and 7-11 is now making the switch to its own branded gasoline. The company says the change has nothing to do with derogatory comments made last week by Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez at the United Nations.

Nevertheless, 7/11 Stores will begin selling in October gas provided by US companies, such as Tower Energy Group in Torrance, CA., Sinclair Oil of Salt Lake City and Frontier Oil Corp of Houston. Carpenter says the signs will start to change, with CITGO signs coming down from the stores' gas canopy and off gasoline dispensers.

More than 2,100 stores are affected. While most of the signs will be changed by end of '07, not all CITGO signs will be off gas canopies until '08.
