DAD KILLS IN 'PERV' RAGE
nypost ^ | aug 31 | JEANE MacINTOSH and LUKAS I. ALPERT

An enraged Connecticut lawyer leaped through the window of the house next door and plunged a knife into his neighbor's chest a dozen times - after being told the man had molested his 2-year-old daughter, police said yesterday. Patent-law attorney Jonathon Edington, 29, turned vigilante after receiving a phone call Monday evening from his wife - who was away on vacation with their daughter - telling him that the neighbor, Barry James, 58, had been sexually abusing the little girl.

That prompted the seemingly mild-mannered Edington to storm over to James' house in the quiet suburban neighborhood, jump through a kitchen window and stab him, said Capt. Gary MacNamara of the Fairfield, Conn., police. The victim's elderly parents looked on in horror.

When Edington returned to his house, James' 87-year-old mother called police. Officers found the lawyer in his kitchen trying to wash blood off his hands and the murder weapon lying on the counter, MacNamara said.

Edington was arrested without incident and was charged Tuesday with murder and burglary.

His lawyer said his client simply lost it after being told his daughter had been sexually assaulted.

"The daughter gave the mother information which was alarming and disturbing. The mom relayed it to her husband. That was the spark," attorney Mickey Sherman said.

He would not say when the alleged molestation occurred.

MacNamara said police have no evidence that such an assault took place but were investigating.

And Freepers who condemn the victim on the basis of the killer's lawyer's report of the killer's report of his wife's report of their two-year-old's report may eventually be embarrassed.

New here, huh?

"I absolutely agree. The whole story is odd. Wouldn't he have called the police or maybe have confronted the neighbor with an accusation first and then, based on the supposed molester's reaction, acted. Running off half cocked, without proof in hand, seems an strange response under the circumstances. Wouldn't he at least have told his wife to bring the baby home so they could delve further into the matter?"

Methinks he killed his neighbor for whatever reason and made up the molestation part with his wife as an excuse.

The wife must have known this was going to trigger a response. Did she kill two birds with one stone?

No, of course not; don't be silly. In reality it was Carl Rove acting on orders from Bush. Rove directed his aide to call the wife with news of the supposed molestation. But the inside story is that the ordered "hit" was based on a demand by Hillary in order to break the inner circle of the CFR - the guy that was stabbed was on the CFR board (what no one knew is that his mother was pulling the strings!).

"If lawyers don't believe in the rule of law, who else should?"

A lawyer is an officer of the court. They are ruled by the state bar association. Normally, laws for us peons, do not apply to lawyers. They are invincable and the good ol'boy network is alive and well for lawyers.

"Why burglary?"

I wondered about that too, so I looked up a definition of burglary and the majority of them state that theft is involved. However, I did find a few like those below.

"Breaking and entering into another person's property with FELONIUS intent." www.dsayles.com/termsb.htm

"The unlawful entry into a building or other structure with the intent to commit a FELONY or a theft."
www.otterbein.edu/resources/security/crime_stats/UCRdefinitions.asp

"entering a building unlawfully with intent to commit a FELONY or to steal valuable property"
wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn

I guess since murder is a felony, they felt they could charge him with burglary too.

It's sad the court's won't protect children -- because if they won't, father's will. I suspect the same system that gives predators a slap on the wrist will go after the father -- Is there a legal defense fund set up him? A link maybe?

The whole story sounds fishy. His wife called from vacation???? And that sets him off like a maniac? He hadn't talked to his daughter himself? Why was his wife on separate vacation anyway? Most families with such young children rarely go off alone -- to the grandparents maybe, but not "on vacation". He leaps through the window? And stabs the guy to death, many stabbings? Sorry, but I recollect what that kind of radical stabbing manaical MO means in many cases -- a murder between homosexuals. More to this story ...

He had returned to his own home.

"To kill your neighbor base on a two year old's word is very shaky"

Agreed. We see more and more parents who treat there little ones as if they are the next genius budda and worship their own children. As the father of 5 I've heard my children parrot something they've seen that day and when they talk later they actually believe its something they experienced. I'm talking mostly of when they were 2 to 5yrs old.

Possible he was high on something? But if so wouldn't we have all heard about it from the police?

Maybe Daughter dear saw Mr. Perv walking around naked, through a window. To find out what happened if she does not turn up with signs of molestation will be very difficult as those young children are very impressionable.

That's objectively embarrassed! But you're right, by the time 'certain Freepers' ought to be blushing furiously, they'll be off jumping to conclusions on another thread. ;^)

Maybe the wife wanted rid of her husband and knew how he would react if told his two year had been molested.

If the molestation really happened, where do we send our donations for this man's medal?
