CBS To Air Profanity-Laden Program (Complaint About "9/11" Documentary)

Not content with all the profanity already on TV, CBS has decided to air the profanity-laden unedited version of "9/11" on Sept. 10. The decision by CBS is a slap in the face to the FCC and Congress, which recently raised indecency fines to $325,000 per incident.

"9/11," which will be shown in prime-time, contains a tremendous amount of hardcore profanity. CBS has stated they have not, and will not, make any cuts in the amount and degree of profanity. CBS will ignore the law. The network is suing the FCC over the indecency law, saying they should be able to show whatever they desire whenever they desire. CBS wants no limits.

This is a test case for CBS to see how far they can go. If there is no out-pouring of complaints from the public, they will go further the next time.

This is not a "remake"; it was filmed on the day of the attacks. Two French filmmakers were doing a documentary on New York City firefighters, and the events of 9/11 happened around them. It was first aired (uncut, no matter what some posters are remembering) within a few months of 9/11, and is being shown again for the fifth anniversary.

It's not contrived at all, no editing, no commentary. It's the raw footage of what these two brothers went through that day at the Trade Centers and after.

As I said previously people seem to be trying to say this is some actor reading from a prepared script laced with profanity. You can tell these people have never seen the documentary. I have seen it and can say while there is cussing, it's not excessive and pretty appropriate for what the people were going through.

Depending on the age of your children, this is a very moving documentary, and I doubt they will suffer permanent damage from hearing a bad word spoken under great duress.

I used the AFA link to send a "complaint" urging that the documentary should not be aired because it would make Americans angry at the terrorists instead of trying to understand them and make peace with them and all that other moonbat nonsense.

(I included an explicit disclaimer at the end in case the FCC bureaucrats are utterly incapable of recognizing sarcasm.)
