It is FAR BETTER today than it used to be, mainly because of situations following the USAir/Pittsburgh, and TWA 800 debacles...

I am following the story later...now they are saying nothing about the cause of this crash which makes me suspicious.

Yeah, there is no easy way. They are in shock. I would expect confusion and anger.

It is difficult enough to deal with the sudden loss of a loved one. Even more difficult also having to wait for information. I fully believe that local authorities, medical response, airport response, etc. responded as well as could be under this stressful situation.
