Unfortunately, Canadair jets seem to have several crashes attributed to them on takeoff.
I'm sure many here remember the business jet that skidded off the end of the runway and across a highway in Teterboro, NJ. That was a Canadair HL-600, closely related to the CRJ's used by almost ALL the major airlines today.

Canadair makes the Challenger. Engines and some components are the same as used on CRJ200 series.

I've flown on my brother's.
FOX also saying it crashed shortly after take-off...in the woods about 1 mile from the airport.
