Was this an interpretation by others of what she said or was this a correct in context statement?

Kate, you're in big trouble. Your strategic and tactical planning, plainly suck and are blunderous. Take 2 Ludes and call me in the morning. Your candidacy is DOA. Bye.

"If you are not electing Christians, tried and true, under public scrutiny and pressure, if you're not electing Christians, then in essence you are going to legislate sin," she told interviewers, citing abortion and gay marriage as two examples of that sin. Kind of hard to argue against that. Too bad the moniker of "Straight Talk Express" is already taken.

Fla. _Rep. Katherine Harris said this week that God did not intend for the United States to be a "nation of secular laws" and that a failure to elect Christians to political office will allow lawmaking bodies to "legislate sin."And Jefferson's corpse spins anew.

In reality, she said, "we have to have the faithful in government" because that is God's will. Separating religion and politics is "so wrong because God is the one who chooses our rulers," she said. Politically stupid, theologically stupid.
She's now trying to kill her campaign all by herself.

Having seen Debbie Wasserman Schultz on TV many times, I find her disgusting. It was interesting when she ducked the question on O'Reilly's show when he asked her why she supports strong anti-terror tactics for Israel and opposes them in the U.S.
By the way, Debbie Wasserman Schultz bears a strong resemblance to Ms. Harris horse on a bad day (for the horse).

Republican voters in Minnesota and Virgina have "legislated sin" by electing pro-life, pro-gun, pro-family Reaganites like these guys:
Senator Norm Coleman (R-MN)
Jewish
Congressman Eric Cantor (R-MN)
Jewish
I gotta hand to Kathy, she's starting to make Alan Keyes comments about "selfish hedonists" look good in comparison.

I was a Katherine supporter and fan, but after being disillusioned over Harris's staffing mess, I decided that since I didn't know her opponents so couldn't make an informed vote, I'd sit the primaries out. But this is over the top. I don't want Christian government. I'll vote in the early balloting tomorrow, for anyone running against Harris.

Peculiar thing how people can get so disgusted by Christian comments, but no one cares about the fact that Islam dictates that we can not profile for national security, cannot show cartoons that offensive to that particular religion, can call for the eradication of the state of Israel, etc. Yes, gays can force their "lifestyle" upon society, education books and curriculum and laws without disgusting our media and legislators. I pretty much agree with Harris on this one.

Kathy, honey, I don't care a fig about the religion of who wins, as long as they keep in mind WE HAVE ENOUGH FRIGGIN LAWS: JUST PASS A BUDGET, AND THEN ADJOURN.

Pathetic.
This sort of nonsense is exactly why she deserves to lose - she's unfit for the office.
I only hope the primary voters don't tie the party's hopes for the seat to Harris. She's sinking like a stone, and the important thing now is to prevent her from taking the party down with too.

Harris said her religious beliefs "animate" everything she does, including her votes in Congress. Just as the reprobates in both parties beliefs 'animate' everything they do including their votes in Congress. (but that is okay of course)
While I don't think it was smart to say it, I can't disagree in theory with her statement.

"And if we are the ones not actively involved in electing those godly men and women," then "we're going to have a nation of secular laws. That's not what our founding fathers intended and that's (sic) certainly isn't what God intended."
I wonder if the Congresswoman would be so good as to show us where in the Constitution it is written that we are not "a nation of secular laws". That's exactly what we are, and nobody this ignorant is fit to hold public office.
The Founders specifically prohibited a religious test for office. Now Harris comes along and thinks she knows better.
TIme to get her out of the race, if we are to have any hope of capturing this much-needed (and potentially winnable) seat.

What a dim bulb. Why couldn't she kept her mouth shut and maybe kept her seat in the house? But no, she bites off more than she could chew. I hope she loses. Better a democrat than a nutcase.
