...........and if I am not mistaken, the 200 French
military folks were combat engineers, not even
infantry.... The U.S. should have never agreed
with the French government about that deal....
just a waste of time and effort......
Interestingly, we have a tendency to "dump" all over
the French, but am I the only one old enough to remember
a place in what was then called French IndoChina,
specifically, Dien Bien Phu, in about, oh, circa, 1954...??
sometimes, I think our collective arrogance clouds
our judgment of such things.....
