Yes, Lautenberg's aide said it was important that we be balanced in our surveillance. Guess he meant that the terrorists get equal treatment as our innocent Americans.

IF I'm not mistaken, Specter signalled on CNN that he has no intention of forwarding a statutory remedy to the question of FISA/NSA intelligence gathering.
Rather, he said this needs to get to the Supreme Court. So, not only will Specter not propose legislation that could put the Dems on serious defense right before the election. He's abandoning this important question to the whims of SCOTUS.
