BANGKOK, Thailand - Thai police said Thursday that a 41-year-old American man has admitted to the killing a decade ago of 6-year-old beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey in the United States.
Lt. Gen. Suwat Tumrongsiskul, head of Thailand's immigration police, told The Associated Press that John Mark Karr confessed to the killing after his arrest Wednesday at a downtown Bangkok apartment.
"He told police while under arrest that he did kill the girl but so far he has not pleaded guilty in writing. This is needed as official evidence," Suwat said.

Sheesh. My wife was born and raised in Petaluma.
I can't wait to tell her this when I get home this morning.
In an incredible coincidence my wife was also peripherally involved as a witness in the Polly Klaas case. This is going to creep her out no end.

I have a feeling some lifer in the Colorado prison system is going to be the cause of many 'accidents' for Mr. Karr.
I know some folks think it's evil to wish bad things like repeated homosexual gang rapes on convicted criminals. I'm not one of those people.
I hope this monster spends the rest of his hopefully short and miserable life being passed around like candy amongst the long term residents of the Colorado Penal System.

Just saw a replay of Scarborough with Marc Klaas saying he still suspectst the Ramseys.
To: Lurker
Make sure you give your wife LOTS of hugs and make her feel "safe". This news WILL hit her far too close to home.
To: Mo1
Sorry... didn't catch it either... hope you know I had my subliminal 'sarcasm' going with my last comment....

She's already got a pretty good case of the creeps from the Klaas case.
They found that girls body 75 yards from the front door of the house my wife was dog sitting in. She drove past the perps car on her way into the property.
She still cries about that. She thinks she may have been able to do something to help that poor child.

Suwat said Karr's visa has been revoked because he was regarded as an "undesirable person" since he is accused of a crime in the United States. He said he expected American officials to take Karr back to the United States in the next few days.
Suwat said Karr arrived in Bangkok on June 6 from Malaysia to look for a teaching job. It was not clear whether he had gotten a job, the police officer said.
Karr has been in Thailand four times over the past two years, police said.

Oh gee, NOT a good thing and now this news.
I mean it........hug her a LOT and try to convince her that there really was NO WAY she could have done anything to help.

One more thing, John Mark Karr had a myspace account(it appears).
The main account was deleted, but he was listed as a friend to a current member who is an 18 year old male living in Petaluma.
You can only see it under a cached link from google and there is a picture of what appears could be Karr in a distant kind of picture in a girls wig and dress.

They were not close and the prospect of a Thai prison for a decade or more surely facilitated the confession considering the prisons down there.
He was not and is not charged by the Thai police for anything. He was only picked up after the US official requested it.
