I think that the kinder thing to say is that he should be glad to be alive, especially after the heart attack he'd had ;-)
He's not worth it. He escalates in value when we treat him as though his opinions or words matter. And they don't.
He's just entertainment at this point
LOL I don't know. In some ways, I don't think that he will get it because he is afraid to hold himself to account. Which is why all his flaws get transferred onto us.
His wife does this in extremis too
"I had a totally improbably life."
Doesn't he mean "I had a totally immoral life?"
The Bride at every Wedding; the Corpse at every Funeral. That's Slick Willie!
"Peter-Pan Psychosis:
Many see this syndrome as a very widespread problem in modern, post-industrial society.
The Peter-Pan psychological type is one characterized by immaturity or certain sorts of psychological, social, and sexual problems. The type of male personality in question is immature and narcissistic. More completely, according to Kiley, the characteristics of a "Peter-Pan" include such attributes as irresponsibility, rebelliousness, anger, narcissism, dependency, manipulativeness, and the belief that he is beyond society's laws and norms. According to Kiley, "Peter Pan" is the adult little boy who, when in a relationship or in seeking a relationship, acts out a need for mothering."

LOL Are they mutually exclusive?
So he hates turning sixty. ..I can think of a good alternative for Clinton. . .
Anyone remember the joke about the lawyer who shows up at heaven's gate (though paperwork error) and speaks with St. Peter?
"There has to be some mistake! I'm only 34!"To which Pete replies: "There's your problem! According to your 'billable hours', you're 92!"
Interesting.
I see him as merely a more extreme example of narcissism, to be surpassed only by his bride.
LOL
Think Bill should consider wearing an undershirt; or if he already does. . .then he needs something 'stronger'. . .
You are right SL, I can't let this guy get the best of me. It's just been one of those days and the news is making me angry my FRiends... "like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli"!*
*pop culture reference
Narcissistic people, drawn to power become their own worst enemies...and ours as well.
For myself, I'm thankful the Lord has let me live beyond 63 (so far). In my former profession, I recovered quite a few drowned kids, their lives were cut short as so many have been, where's the gratitude Bubba? Sheesh. Do we have to keep hearing about this guy?
I think he was implying that some miraculous intervention helped him live a lifestyle far beyond what should have happened. But you are correct in that his improbable lifestyle resulted from his immorality.
It's reasonable that the news is overwhelming.
When he's 69 he'll love it!
HA
Oh my gosh! Recovering drowned children! That must have been very difficult emotionally.
