Bush's Anti-Terrorism Record

(CBS/AP) SCHENECTADY, N.Y. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, a possible contender for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination in 2008, on Monday criticized the Bush administration for failing to do enough to protect the country from terrorists.

Clinton's comments came after authorities in the United Kingdom last week said they thwarted a terror plot involving airplanes bound from Britain to the United States. Conspirators allegedly planned to blow up as many as 10 planes flying from Britain to the United States using liquid explosives, which the U.S. Transportation Security Administration's security equipment cannot detect in carry-on luggage.

"We've done some things right," the New York senator said at a community event in Schenectady. "Obviously we've beefed up airport security in some ways, but as we've learned over the last week not in every way that matters. We still have not done what we need to do to protect our ports, our borders, our bridges, our transit systems, our rail lines, it's a long list.

"I don't think our long-term strategy for homeland security is yet what it needs to be," she said.

Department of Homeland Security officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The Clintonistas sat and watched while terrorists attacked U.S. interests repeatedly. The list of attacks is very long, but just two examples: 1)the attack on the US Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya which killed a couple of hundred people. The chemicals used were supplied by Iraq (which was controlled by Saddam Hussein at the time); 2) the first attack on the World Trade Center, which also involved Iraqis under the direction of Saddam Hussein.
Now, the Dumbocrats say there is no connection between the Iraq war and the war on terrorism, that Iraq is an expensive diversion from the war on terror!!! Their brains are filled with cotton, hay and rags.

It is so interesting to look back throughout the 90's and see who the Clintons considered the greatest threat to American soverignty. There isn't a better example of this than the Clinton's administration's reaction to the first WTC attack in 1993...and the event that followed only several months later.

Unlike the federal resources and public display that were allocated for the seige at Waco, the 1993 WTC attack was treated as a mere criminal act. Were Janet Reno and Bill Clinton refused to identify the WTC attackers as Islamic fundamentalists and the terrorists they were, they...and their media brethren had no problem identifying the situation at Waco as a Christian fundamentalist problem.

From the release of the FALN terrorists...to the continued funding and support of the Indonesian government while Christians were being murdered...to even the Balkans, it was obvious who the Clintons considered the greatest threat to peace. Just looking at how Clinton treated the OKC bombing compared to the 1993 WTC attack exposes this hypocrisy. Were Clinton called-out Rush Limbaugh and right-wing "hate-radio" as responsible for the OKC bombing, he didn't have nearly the same condemnation for those responsible for the WTC attack.

It's such hypocrisy to listen to liberals whine about terrorist surveillance and profiling when the Clinton admnistration did many of these same things...targeting American militias and bringing many of them under suspicion, while continually ignoring the greater threat. What's perhaps most ironic is that even through all the appeasement, concessions (Clinton and Barak) and even hostility towards Christians that Clinton showed (Serbia, America, Indonesia, etc), radical Islam was still attacking us...and planning even more attacks (9/11/01).
