Bush's Anti-Terrorism Record
(CBS/AP) SCHENECTADY, N.Y. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, a possible contender for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination in 2008, on Monday criticized the Bush administration for failing to do enough to protect the country from terrorists.
Clinton's comments came after authorities in the United Kingdom last week said they thwarted a terror plot involving airplanes bound from Britain to the United States. Conspirators allegedly planned to blow up as many as 10 planes flying from Britain to the United States using liquid explosives, which the U.S. Transportation Security Administration's security equipment cannot detect in carry-on luggage.
"We've done some things right," the New York senator said at a community event in Schenectady. "Obviously we've beefed up airport security in some ways, but as we've learned over the last week not in every way that matters. We still have not done what we need to do to protect our ports, our borders, our bridges, our transit systems, our rail lines, it's a long list.
"I don't think our long-term strategy for homeland security is yet what it needs to be," she said.
Department of Homeland Security officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

"Just wait...by Monday morning the 'rats will be screeching that President Bush once again kept information from them, "lied" to them, endangered our safety...blah, blah, blah. ;)"
Remember our little conversation about this on another thread? Well, I was right. It's Monday; they've sent their Head B*tch out to Bush Bash on National Security.
So, what would she have done differently?
Sweet! Cast your vote and we can start building a big fence/wall tomorrow that runs from SD to Brownsville.
Almost in unison, every Dem has come out and used the thwarting of this plot as a grandstand to attack....
Radical Islam? Our enemies abraod? Terrorism in general? Why no, no, and no! They attack President Bush! They are truly demented, unpatriotic, and put their own political hides above all else.

Yawn!
Only 2 IQ fools [majority of the Dim constituency] shake their head's in agreement with Ahmadinejad as he condemns our President for the 40 million without HEALTHCARE.
Wasn't she part of a co-Presidency? So what was her record? Oh, never mind. We all know what it was.
in other news, ilgipper blasts Lance Armstrong's Tour de France record. I could've done better.
She can't spell Schenectady.
No s**! it's a "long list", honey. It's a long list because it would take millions of people working around the clock every day to inspect every container, freight car, and truck entering the US. Now maybe that's a great full employment plan for unionized longshoreman and cargo inspectors (and maybe that's Hillary's idea), but it would not solve the problem.
Inspections are not a bad idea but they are no solution to the problem of Islamic terrorism. Inspection is a reactive, not a proactive measure that responds to a technique, not an enemy. The way to win this war - and we need to shake Democrats by the scruff of their scrawny necks to get them to admit that we are, in fact, at war - is by identifying, and then engaging the enemy, not simply by intercepting its weapons (although we need to do that whenever possible).
We need to kill as many of these SOB's as we can, in their territory, not ours; or else disrupt their planning through intelligence and interdiction, while decapitating their command structure, up to and including the states that harbor and support them. The world will pretend to hate us for it, and thank us, privately, later.
She and Bill each want ANOTHER unconstitutional 8 years as co-president.
They are ramping up and screaming trying to drowned out the fact they are the ones failing on national security. They know the GOP is going to hammer them with it from now until Nov. and they are trying to do damage control
So, they are going two routes, one route says we are faking the plot and merely trying to scare people, the other one, which contradicts the first, says we are not doing enough to stop terror attacks, even though there have been no major attacks on US soil since 9/11.
The only ones who will listen to them are the moonbats, the moderate republicans have got to be asking themselves lots of questions about now regarding which party is actually for national security. We may pick up a huge amount of votes from moderate dims this fall and that is scaring the crap out of the dimwit party.
And those are her good points!!!
This woman could not manage a snack counter in a Brussels pot-shop. She has no demonstrated competence to speak authoritatively about anything.
Show prep time. Your well thought out and delivered monologs (AKA rants :>)) are better than anything I can come up with to reply to this bag's comments. Looking forward to hearing you in 90 minutes.
