But oh how are the Leftists going to reconcile this image:

Mrs. Healey, a tiny woman about 5 feet tall, had arresting light eyes and a sturdy, forceful voice. A smoker for years, she is pictured on the jacket of her book smiling and with a cigarette in hand.

I mean it is one thing to embrace the political system that slaughtered millions, that imprisoned and mentally raped millions, that crushed dissent, that ran over freedoms with tanks both military and ideological but to smoke?? That is unforgivable.

Now she and Joe Hill can sing duets in Hell, in between having their entrails roasted over white-hot coals and their eyes gouged out with barbed wire.

Her marriages to "three good men," as she once called them, Lon Sherman, Don Healey and Phillip Connelly, ended in divorce.

Strange that the WaPo would report false info. According to numerous articles in LA Times from the 1940s, her first husband was Louis (Lou) Schneiderman, brother of William Schneiderman, State secretary of the Communist Party.

Stations are fond of making up phrases for their call letters, even when the letters were assigned randomly or originally chosen for another purpose.

In the case of WPFW, I'm pretty sure it stood for "Pacifica Foundation Washington."

Some other Pacifica Stations are/were KPFK (SF Bay area), KPFA (L.A.), KPFT (Houston), and at one time WLIB (NY City).

I'm a student of station slogans; just one of my many weaknesses < }B^)

That's possible, but one thing is certain... there's literally NOTHING to the left of it on the dial.

Verry clever, those FCC mojos, putting the 'non-profits' down at that end of the band!

Hmm.. 90.9, 94.3, 103.9, 107.1. My progress in radio was rightward. Oops! Then I relapsed to 89.5.

Mrs. Healey, once known as "the Red Queen," embraced the Communist Party in Los Angeles at 14

And Hillary Clinton picked up the mantle sometime in the late 60's.

He probably changed his name because of the notoriety but kept the same initials.

That's what it looks like, but it's just strange. The Schneiderman clan were Communists well known to the police and FBI dating back to the 1920s (William, Louis, Rose, Emma, et al). It's probably just sloppy WaPo reporting as she was remarried to her second husband by 1941.

The first public school was established in my hometown in 1850 by Clara Barton, of Red Cross fame. It is a one room brick building that I pass by at least once every day. It just proves that truly horrible ideas start small.
