GAZA (Reuters) - Palestinian gunmen kidnapped two foreign journalists working for the Fox News television channel in Gaza on Monday, a witness said.
The witness, a Palestinian who worked with the two journalists, said one of them, a producer, was an American, and the other, whose nationality he did not know, was a cameraman.
The Fox News bureau in Jerusalem said it was checking the report.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the abduction.
The witness said two vehicles blocked the journalist's transmission truck in the center of Gaza City and a masked man put a gun to the bodyguard's head, forcing him to the ground.
The kidnappers then sped away with the two journalists.
Similar incidents in the past in Gaza have ended with the release, usually within hours, of kidnapped foreign journalists or aid workers.
Many of the abductions were carried out by Palestinians pressing a grievance against the Palestinian government or its security forces
I'm making a list, and checking it twice
I meant that may be what the bad guys are asking:')
Be pro-terrorist like the AP ...or else.
I think they could have done away with the cute little stint at the end of the Brit show and made serious mention of a famiy member of Fox in trouble or something.
Very baffling.
"I think they could have done away with the cute little stint at the end of the Brit show and made serious mention of a famiy member of Fox in trouble or something"
Yes, I agree. Fox disappointed me.
Oh. That would suck even more. But they are reporting it, but only via reporters in Israel. No other reporters are allowed to comment on it.
I guess it doesn't matter. What does matter is that the Palis are trying to draw us in. That is a huge development.
Afterall it is real, it is happening and it is not "normal", like they are acting.
What do you folks want, report news before it happens? That's not Fox News style! Be patient!
I hesitated to post this because emotions are running high right now but I agree. Reporters are aware of the dangers of this job but I don't want any killed or harmed whether Fox or another network. I am kind of fond of ours, but unless it is a person that has verbalized or shown they are an enemy to this nation, none of them are any more important than another, including our troops that are missing/been kidnapped.
Agreed.
Does anyone really think that FNC wouldn't give us further details if they thought it was in the best interests of their people? They have their reasons; they know more about the situation than we do. Our curiosity certainly doesn't trump their need to take care of the situation to the best of their ability.
The comedy bit at the end of Brit's show was insensitive. I am disappointed that they went ahead with it.
I didn't see the bit, so keep that in mind. Was the comedy bit insensitive or was it doing their best not to show weakness to the terrorists/going about life to show that they can't force them into panicking?
It isn't Jennifer Griffin, I heard her report today about two Fox employees being kidnapped but she gave no names.
It was a clip from the Daily Show.
Listen, I thought it was ODD, considering what is going on, that Fox would air a comedy routine tonight. That's all.
If this is all true, I hope our Government releases a statement which says something like "Give our FNC reporter back OR ELSE"!

What a commentary that posters here offer excuses and/or support for such bloodthirsty entities as Hamas, Hizbullah, Iran & Syria. JFK is spinning in his grave at the virile opposition to the one democracy in the Mideast in favor of religious kooks - how low we have gone.
Hideously evil? Hardly! Wrong and insensitive, yes. Typical of news journalism today, yes. But, did he wish someone dead? That is essentially what you did when you wished him to be put into the hands of the Muslim terrorists. Being an utter and completely insensitive jerk doing the job you're expected to do and wishing someone to be put into the hands of folks who will behead you as to look at you do not compare on the evil scale. Sorry.
