GAZA (Reuters) - Palestinian gunmen kidnapped two foreign journalists working for the Fox News television channel in Gaza on Monday, a witness said.
The witness, a Palestinian who worked with the two journalists, said one of them, a producer, was an American, and the other, whose nationality he did not know, was a cameraman.
The Fox News bureau in Jerusalem said it was checking the report.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the abduction.
The witness said two vehicles blocked the journalist's transmission truck in the center of Gaza City and a masked man put a gun to the bodyguard's head, forcing him to the ground.
The kidnappers then sped away with the two journalists.
Similar incidents in the past in Gaza have ended with the release, usually within hours, of kidnapped foreign journalists or aid workers.
Many of the abductions were carried out by Palestinians pressing a grievance against the Palestinian government or its security forces
Stunning how much they look like each other.
What does he do now? Shop Steve around to other terrorists? Give him to Nasrallah?
Thanks for his name..I was looking for it.
Fox is really not saying much about this at all and are trying not to make a big deal out of it. All they said is they are working on getting them released. Honestly I thing they are trying to make light of this on purpose until they get more information on the situation.
I hadn't heard the photographer's name; thanks for putting a face to the name.
"Her partner, Olaf Wiig, is a freelance cameraman, currently working with Fox News."
No, that was Steve Harrigan.
bbl
Prayers for Steve, his family and Olaf.
Fox just removed the FOX NEWS ALERT or any mention about the kidnapping of any Foxnews journalist on their site. Interesting!
Generally the producer IS the on air personality in these situations. i.e. Shephard Smith IS a producer (not saying that it was SHep that was Kidnapped)!!
Thanks. I couldn't remember which one, it was.

Awful. I hope they are released UNHARMED ASAP. I just erased what I thought about these so-called "Palestinians." They are savages. May God protect the innocents from them and all other Muslims out to do harm. There is only one continent that is safe from Islam. Everywhere except for Antarctica, Muslims are waging/planning war. Please God protect these innocents from harm.
Nice post. Welcome to FreeRepublic.
It is Steve Centanni.
my bet is they are communicating with his family before it hits the airways.
May God be with him and his family.
May our country do what needs to be done to these animals.
OMG. Prayers for Steve's safe return!
