Can a good Muslim be a good American?
A friend who knows

I ask my fellow freepers indulgence for this vanity, because I believe it is too important to be buried in the back of the forum.
Can a good Muslim be a good American? I sent that question to a friend who worked in Saudi Arabia for 20 years.
The following is his reply:
Theologically - no. Because his allegiance is to Allah, the moon god of Arabia.
Religiously - no. Because no other religion is accepted by his Allah except Islam (Quran, 2:256)
Scripturally - no. Because his allegiance is to the five pillars of Islam and the Quran (Koran).
Geographically - no. Because his allegiance is to Mecca, to which he turns in prayer five times a day.
Socially - no. Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews.
Politically - no. Because he must submit to the mullah (spiritual leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and Destruction of America, the great Satan.
Domestically - no. Because he is instructed to marry four women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him (Quran 4:34).
Intellectually - no. Because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be corrupt.
Philosophically - no. Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran do not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist. Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic.
Spiritually - no. Because when we declare "one nation under God," the Christian's God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to as heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in The Quran's 99 excellent names.
Therefore after much study and deliberation...perhaps we should be very suspicious of ALL MUSLIMS in this country. They obviously cannot be both "good" Muslims and good Americans. Call it what you wish...it's still the truth. The more who understand this, the better it will be for our country and our future. The war is bigger than most Americans know or understand.

Why the idiot remark? I will respond to you with a single scripture if you answer the following two questions clearly and concisely:
- Are you a Christian?
- Do you know the scriptures?

"perhaps we should be very suspicious of ALL MUSLIMS in this country" NO! My best friend is a Muslim. Is he a practicing one? I do not think so but that is his problem, not mine. I do know that he is the most patriotic American I know and he is a Naturalized Citizen. The real point is that he is a TURK! They do not like the ARABS. So the problem is Arab Muslims.

- My apologies. I did not look carefully enough.
- Thanks for answering my question.
- Apparently, you view Allah as a God. Do you at least agree that Allah is an Arabic word which means God?
Abraham is repeatedly mentioned in The Qur'an. This is the same Abraham who is mentioned in The Old Testament.

The big difference between Islam and Christianity:
Mohammed integrated religion and government
Christ said his Kingdom was not of this world. He also said "pay unto Caesar what is Caesar's and God what is God's"
For Christians, this allows us to be true to our God and also good citizens of our country. For Muslims, religion and state on the same.

I am a Christian and I by no means know scripture so well that I don't expect to be corrected from time to time...to time (although I don't see why one should withhold responses to civilly asked questions in any case).

Apparently, you view Allah as a God. Do you at least agree that Allah is an Arabic word which means God? Yes, I believe they think they have it right and that's the word they use.
In reality, I think Allah is the One True God's rival, or a fake if you like. Many names fit that description.
And Mohamed was a false prophet.

Generally, yes. The American Revolution and the explicit prohibitions against religious tests in the subsequent Constitution were due in no small part to the abuses of the Church of England, if I'm reading my history correctly.

Most world religions allow for pluralism and are not based on Theocracies.Tell that to the victims of the Holy Roman Empire, Japan, Nepal, Luther and Cromwell and that fellow who beat the hell out of the Cananites.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations here estimates there are now 6 million Muslims in AmericaAnything CAIR has to offer, I'd take with a heaping spoonful of salt. I tend to believe the estimates of more objective observers, one to two million at the most.

Not so. Not even close, Christians and Jews worship the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. That God had a son, though the Jews do not recognize Jesus as the Messiah, They most assuredly will upon his glorious return to Jerusalem.
No such prophesy exists regarding adherents of Islam, though they may profess to worship the the One true God. I quote from the paper "Concept of God in Islam" printed by the World Assembly of Muslim Youth Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
"God has not taken to Himself any son, nor is there any god with Him". "Allah is the personal name of the One true God. The term has no plural or gender. Islam rejects characterizing God in any human form or depicting Him as favoring certain individuals or nations on the basis of wealth, power or race. The concept that God rested in the seventh day of creation, wrestled with one of his soldiers, that He is an envious plotter against mankind is considered blasphemy from the Islamic point of view".
From the Quran, "People of the book go not beyond the bounds in your religion, and say not as to God but the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only the Messenger of God, and His Word that He committed to Mary, and a Spirit from Him". (4:171)
One would be blind not to recognize many points in stark contrast to words in the Bible a book documenting the works of God's prophets, and Jesus His Son. To quote from page 45 of the book, "Towards understanding Islam", "The Jews and Christians had passed on to them certain legends relating to the Israelite Prophets. They presented a harrowing picture of those noble souls. Their teachings were adulterated with the figments of their own imagination and their lives were tarred black. Some idea of the religious conceptions of those people can still be got today by looking at the Israelite traditions which Muslim commentators of the Quran have conveyed to us. The picture presented of the institution of prophethood and of the character of the Israelite Prophets is the very antithesis of all that those noble followers of truth stood for".
As to the books of the old and new testaments, Page 75 footnote 4. says, "Even a cursory study of the first books of the Old testament and the four Gospels of the New Testament reveals that they are the productions of men. The fact is that the original word of God is preserved neither with the Jews nor with the Christians".
There is much more, but lets just say there are considerable difference between Islam and Christianity, and since truth is absolute, and resides in God, there are such radical differences in the two Gospels of Christ and Muhammad, that leave important questions in the minds of its adherents as to which has the truth. That is up to the individual to determine, but treating Christians or Jews in any way other than Allah the Merciful the Compassionate might treat them, smacks of a mountain of misguided mullahs as well as those they are leading by the nose.
To quote the Prophet you believe in, "Loot and plunder, murder and rapine, injustice and cruelty - all the vices which you indulge - are crimes in the eyes of God. Leave your evil ways. He hates them all".

Total BS. My answer in the previous stands. The founders want an audience so you can tell them how wrong they were, and then they can begin your reeducation. To have the arrogance to say what you have in light of what the founders sacrificed in many cases everything, sure spits on their graves. I'm surprised you are able to live in such intolerable liberty.

I have >200 years of hindsight. And yet some of them predicted that the beast would not remain caged. They were, of course, 100% correct.
If you choose to be blind to the obvious flaws in our government, the grotesque violations of the Constitution which the Constitution was singularly unable to prevent, that's your problem.

Yep, I'm just kidding. Isn't the dripping sarcasm evident. PS, at what point does survival become an issue? Enquiring minds need to know. Apparently you have given this a lot of thought.
