Can a good Muslim be a good American?
A friend who knows | 8/11/2006 | Agent Smith

Posted on 08/11/2006 6:36:37 AM PDT by Agent Smith

I ask my fellow freepers indulgence for this vanity, because I believe it is too important to be buried in the back of the forum.

Can a good Muslim be a good American? I sent that question to a friend who worked in Saudi Arabia for 20 years.

The following is his reply:

Theologically - no. Because his allegiance is to Allah, the moon god of Arabia.

Religiously - no. Because no other religion is accepted by his Allah except Islam (Quran, 2:256)

Scripturally - no. Because his allegiance is to the five pillars of Islam and the Quran (Koran).

Geographically - no. Because his allegiance is to Mecca, to which he turns in prayer five times a day.

Socially - no. Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews.

Politically - no. Because he must submit to the mullah (spiritual leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and Destruction of America, the great Satan.

Domestically - no. Because he is instructed to marry four women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him (Quran 4:34).

Intellectually - no. Because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be corrupt.

Philosophically - no. Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran do not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist. Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic.

Spiritually - no. Because when we declare "one nation under God," the Christian's God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to as heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in The Quran's 99 excellent names.

Therefore after much study and deliberation...perhaps we should be very suspicious of ALL MUSLIMS in this country. They obviously cannot be both "good" Muslims and good Americans. Call it what you wish...it's still the truth. The more who understand this, the better it will be for our country and our future. The war is bigger than most Americans know or understand.

Send them packing.

Yeah right. I can see the American people and our legal system approving the shipping out of the country six million american citizens because of their religion. Can you imagine Louis Farakhan's reaction?

Another one:
http://www.nysun.com/article/31393

"Out of the 1.4 million service men and women serving actively in the American military, an estimated 3,700 are Muslim, according to the Department of Defense."

Not very many...I wonder how many are of Middle Eastern/Asian descent?

I would define devout as not a nut job. The recent nuttiness started less than 60 years ago in the U.S., no less.

Okay...can it be done without us looking like a bunch of paranoid xenophobes to the rest of the world?

Or should we even care what the rest of the world thinks?

Better yet, what US government would actually do this, because this one won't?

I don't want to quibble with something I substantially agree with, but where in the Quran is a Muslim "instructed" to marry four women? I believe they are told they may have up to four if they can accommodate four, but nowhere is it said that four is better than one.

It has already been established that any Muslim considered devout and "good" according to Islam's tenets and the Koran cannot be considered a good American.

But there are a lot of bad Muslims who get along fine with the rest of us, and generally make decent Americans.

I don't know what the Constitutional answer is, but it's become obvious that continuing with the PC crap is going to get a lot of US citizens killed, within the US.

PS Ever since a certain cassius clay became someone else, I have had a thing for name changing supposed americans who bask in the luxury and freedom of these United States of America, but have an entirely different agenda, which is now coming to the front burner of everyone else in the country.

The number of Muslims in the U.S. military is hard to estimate. Estimates vary from 4,000 to more than 12,000.

Islam is the fastest growing religion in the United States. The Council on American-Islamic Relations here estimates there are now 6 million Muslims in America compared to 2 million in the early 1970s. Nearly half are African-American converts. The rest are immigrants from such countries as India, Pakistan, and Arab and African nations.

No one knows what's in everyone else's heart. Are there muslims who put allegiance to the United States first? Probably, although I suspect they are a small minority. A good muslims first allegiance is to islam, which is quite clear in its exhortations to conquer the infidels and convert them to islam.

Many of them, although loathe to say so in public, support efforts to undermine American democracy in favor of a government based on the teachings of islam. In other words, they lend moral support to the overthrow of the U.S. Government. That makes them a clear and present danger to our way of life, and something to be very concerned about.

A recent British poll was released that shocked most UK folks.

Generally it said that Muslims said Islam first, then UK.

Thus their loyality was not to the UK.

"some devout muslims have fought in the war on terror, in US Military."

Isn't there an oath one takes when he or she begins US military service where they pledge alligence to the USA? And if they do, isn't that directly opposed to the muslim law?

You might wish to define "devout" ~

If you disagree, I'd say the burden is upon you to review your definition. "Devout" does not necessarily mean "radical" or "murderous."

The enemy is militant Islamic fundamentalism, not Islam. The enemy is trying to radicalize the world's 1.2 billion Muslims by making this a religious struggle. In reality, we are tallking about a small radical fringe group, which has been killing more Muslims than anyone else. We play into their hands by demonizing Islam.
