The people I'm talking about I've known for a long time, they go to ball games, tell Arab jokes, etc. Their parents were either born here or lived here most of their lives. Non-citizens are here at our sole and sovereign pleasure. We can keep out the nationals of any country we wish, or the followers of any religion we wish, without appeal or explanation.

This used to be the observed and enforced policy back in the days of the Cold War--contact with Eastern Block countries was strictly controlled and heavily monitored. Anyone from a Communist country underwent intense scrutiny.

I don't know why we don't assume a Cold War posture in relation to Islamic countries in this new war. It was effective then, and would be today.
