Why not just put it in the big bag you check? Why are they throwing away this stuff?

BTW, the "suspect" who worked at Heathrow had an all access pass to the entire airport.

I saw many dozens of the grey bins filled with perfumes, lipsticks, aftershave, chapstick, lotion, shampoo, and etc. No liquids or creams are allowed even near the checkpoints. The receptacles were being bagged up and labeled, and moved away at a very steady pace under surveillance. Likely that we will not hear about the results of the analysis, but there were very few middle-eastern people at the airports where I was today.
