The 'Christian' western nations need to pledge or guarantee that Mecca, Medina and Qom will be destroyed if the Israelis themselves could not respond in kind for whatever reason. Can't count on them not attacking Jerusalem. Muslims don't really care much about Jerusalem, except that Jews control it. They're willing to sacrifice it to achieve larger aims.
Why assume Iran would use missiles, when it would be ever so convenient to have a sleeper bomb already hidden away. The terrorists use suicide bombers, willing to sacrifice themselves with explosives strapped on their bodies. Now extend that line of reasoning to a large group of terrorists with a nuke in their midst, waiting to set it off upon receiving a telephone call. Israel has not been given permission to inspect Arab tunneling deep under the Dome in Jerusalem, among other places there. Just a thought, but a scary one.

E'tekaf (spiritual retreat) ceremony started at dawn today in the congregation mosques of Mashhad and of other cities in Khorasan-e Razavi province. In this ceremony, the fasting mo'takefin (persons who go into retreat into the mosque during the last 10 days of Ramadan) will praise God for three days and pray for the annihilation of the Zionists and all the oppressors and for the victory of all the oppressed in the world.
Gowharshad Mosque and 22 other mosques in Mashhad are hosting the mo'takefin.
Some 2,000 brothers and sisters--mostly youths--are attending the ceremony in Neyshabur's mosques. Attendance by youths and women in the E'tekaf and Ayyam al-Bidz (White Nights on 13, 14 and 15 of the month of Rajab--8, 9 and 10 Aug) ceremonies is considerably larger than previous years.

The Islamic ummah (nation), because it has forgotten to struggle in the path of God, is today in a catastrophic situation. The Islamic ummah was the front-runner in science, civilization, ethics, and humanity for a long time throughout history. Today, it is suffering from division, weakness, and backwardness. The infidels and the enemies of religion interfere in its politics and its life. The enemies oppress the Islamic ummah and it cannot defend itself. This weakness and corruption in the world of Islam are because we have forgotten to struggle in the path of God. I am not asking why we did not take our swords out and fight the enemy every time - fighting in the battlefield is one kind of Jihad too. What I am asking is why we have neglected to identify the enemy, its plans, and its conspiracies. I am asking why we were deceived by the enemy.
Today is 13 Rajab. It is a festive day (vernacular: eid) but we have no eid in our hearts. The body of the Islamic ummah is covered by blood. Look at Lebanon and see what is going on there. Look at Palestine and see what is happening there. Look at Iraq and Afghanistan. The Islamic ummah cannot be hopeful, these are our weaknesses. Two bitter phenomena are currently taking place in the Islamic ummah. Both of these phenomena are worth contemplation for a Muslim.
The Islamic ummah should be ashamed and should repent. One of the two phenomena are the crimes that are repeatedly being carried out in Lebanon and Palestine.
It is almost a month since the savage and cannibal Zionist wolf started attacking the Lebanese people. When it receives a slap in the face by Hizballah - who are mujahids in the path of God - it drops bombs on Muslim children in Qana and other parts of Lebanon.
When it cannot compete against the mujahid combatants fighting in the path of God, and fails against them, it takes it out on the innocent children and people, their homes, and the infrastructure of the country. This is a huge catastrophe. The same things happen in Gazan and Palestinian neighborhoods. This is something that should alert all Muslims.
And the world of arrogance and infidels not only keeps silent, but by its reactions it also encourages the aggressors and oppressors. America does it one way, evil Britain and other powerful countries do it another. The United Nations is standing there watching everything with sheer incompetence. How can it claim to fight terrorism or support human rights and civil rights? They are cold-hearted, two-faced hypocrites, and they are not even ashamed.
This is something that can serve as a lesson. This affair that they've brought about for Lebanon and, in particular, for Lebanon's Shiites is something that could happen to any Muslim nation, any Islamic country, and any Islamic sect. You cannot rely upon the big powers. The Islamic ummah should be able to defend itself. It should be able to safeguard its own existence. Many times (voice interrupts from the crowd saying "We're ready, we're ready") -
Listen, it has been seen many times and it is repeatedly being seen today that the arrogant powers of the world - when Muslims are involved - shut their eyes to any crime against Muslims. We saw this in Bosnia. We saw this in Kosovo. We saw this in Afghanistan. We saw this in Iraq. And today it is Lebanon's turn. And Palestine has been like this for years. For them, there is no difference between Shiite and Sunni, Arab and non-Arab. Wherever their force suffices, wherever they see no obstacle before them, wherever they don't receive a punch in the face, they advance. The Islamic ummah must understand this. Islamic nations must understand this. They must make themselves strong. This is one of those two phenomena, which truly serves as a lesson. And a Muslim's mind cannot overlook it or fail to be concerned about it.
The second phenomenon, which is even worse than the first one, is the division among Islamic nations. You can see that it has almost been a month that the enemies of Islam have been attacking a Muslim nation so brutally. This is not a normal war; this is a war full of war crimes. They are killing defenseless people and they are using banned and illegal weapons. And Muslims states, especially some Arab governments, are sitting back and watching. They are making a mistake, which is a very detrimental mistake. They are being cautious because of America and arrogant powers. But they (America and arrogant powers) will not be cautious for them (Islamic countries) when needed. No they will not be cautious.
The enemy is of course active. The issue of Shiites and Sunnis is one of the most important tools in the hands of the enemies to cripple the Islamic ummah. Everyone in Iran or elsewhere in the Islamic world, either Shiites or Sunnis, should know this. You should know that the difference between Shiites and Sunnis is a tool in the hands of the enemies to use against the Islamic ummah. They will use this tool however they want. They put Palestinian Sunnis under pressure one day and start a campaign among you and remind you that you are Shiites, just to stop you from helping them.
Today the Shiites in Lebanon are under pressure. Some are provoking the Sunnis against helping Muslims in Lebanon because of the fact that they are Shiites. They don't have any respect for Sunni or Shiites. They are opposed to the principle of Islam. Discord is like a fatal poison for the world of Islam. Discord will separate nations and hearts. At the moment the enemy, the US and Israeli intelligence services, are provoking certain people to confront and fight with the Shiites in Iraq, who form the majority of the government, in order to create insecurity. They are using insecurity as a means to strengthen their foothold in Iraq and in Baghdad. America needs an excuse to remain in Iraq and it is using the current insecurity as an excuse.
In order to stop the Iraqi government providing the necessary services, they are creating this insecure situation in the country so that they can have an excuse for their presence.
They are creating the current differences. They are turning Shiites and Sunnis against each other in such a bad way that they cannot tolerate each other, despite the many commonalities between them. That is what the enemy is doing. Why can't we understand this fact?
It has been years, since the era of the late Ayatollah Borujerdi (a source of emulation during the Shah's time) and some Sunni clerics in Egypt, that the idea was introduced to set differences aside. Let Sunnis and Shiites remain separate sects with their own (religious) opinion.
But clasp one another's hands. The Koran, in the words of the noble Prophet, tells the Christians of the time: "Let us agree on the same word which is acceptable to both of us" (previous phrase in Arabic) Christians and Muslims. "We believe in one God and nobody else." (Previous phrase in Arabic)
Then, with a single God, a single Prophet, a single Koran, a single qiblah (direction in which Muslims pray), the same prayers - all these self-evident and common points - that they should use a few disputed points as a pretext for enmity - is this not treachery? Is this not a case of the ill intentions of the ill-intentioned and the negligence of the negligent? Anyone who bears any blame in this respect is answerable to God, whether Shiite or Sunni. Today, defending Lebanon's Hizballah is a duty for the entire Islamic community. (Crowd chants in support)
We view this issue with open eyes. It is clear to us what arrogance is doing. We stood on the Palestine issue as firmly as we did on the Lebanon issue or on the Iraq issue or on the Afghanistan issue. We can see that American arrogance, accompanied by some wicked European governments such as Britain, which is one of the most disgraced and most ill-reputed governments in the region, and with the cooperation of the cruel and savage Zionists, intend to uproot Islam in this region. They see that Islam is standing up to their covetousness.
With the establishment of the system of the Islamic republic, with the raising of the banner of Islam in this region, they realized that Islam is alive. Today Islamic sentiments and the inclination to struggle (Persian: mojahedat) on the path of Islam is alive in all Islamic countries, from the Atlantic to the Pacific, in all of this vast and sensitive territory. The people of North Africa, the people of the Middle East, the people of Asia, the people of Southeast Asia, as far as you can see Muslims, the inclination to revive the Islamic identity and Islamic honor is alive in them. They cannot destroy this. They try. We are the ones who must be awake. We are the ones who must be vigilant.
You are witnessing one example of Islamic steadfastness and Islamic struggle in Lebanon today. This is that same merciless and vicious Zionist army which was once known as invincible. It defeated the armies of three Islamic countries in six days. Today, it has been exhausting itself for one month; with all its might and using American weapons and American military assistance, it is constantly being slapped in the face by a pious, struggling group which believes in nothing but God and His ummah (previous descriptive phrase in almost indistinct Arabic).
This shows that, if it entrusts itself to God, the Islamic ummah can halt the enemies of Islam. (crowd chants Death to America)
May God rid us of the enemies of the Islamic nation, may God familiarize us with our duties against the enemies of Islam, may God duly bestow us with the duty to struggle in his path, may God bring the hearts of the Muslims together and unite them, may God rid the oppressed people of Lebanon of the cruel, malicious troops of the enemy, may God keep the Muslim Hizballah soldiers safe, and make them successful. May God dignify the world of Islam; may God hasten the advent of the twelfth Imam. (crowd saying Amen after prayers)
