Mourners carry the coffins of Israeli Arabs Hanna Hamam, 62, and Ladida Mazzawi, 67, who were killed Sunday night in a Hezbollah rocket attack, during their funeral in the city of Haifa, northern Israel, Monday, Aug. 7, 2006. Hezbollah fired its deadliest rocket barrage Sunday on Israel, killing 12 Israeli reservists and three civilians. That brought the Israeli death toll to 94, including 46 soldiers, the 12 reservists and 36 civilians.

Cool!

The desktop I'm using now is a refurbished Dell. Not near as powerful as your laptop. But the price was right. Think I only paid about $200 for it at Computer Renaissance a few years ago.

The wife and son have the newer technology stuff around here. :)

One thing that I have noticed about these Middle East Live threads...the spelling police, and punctuation police seem to be absent.

We are all guilty of misspelled words..and I have a habit of dropping letters sometimes..

So...don't sweat it.

Walmart for the Compaq for my hubby (he's been running an almost 9 year old system, which I've kept limping along, still on Windows 98. Their decision to stop patching 98 gave me the opportunity to say, "Dear, you HAVE to get a new system to be online."

He's as much of an online junkie as I am. So he'll be moving up to XP, and 512m ram and he won't have to deal with such a sluggish system any more...Maybe I'll even get him to run Firefox. I run mozilla cause of Composer, which I use all the time. If someone ever creates something for Firefox or even as a stand alone that is as simple to use as Composer, I will switch myself.

And I recently upgraded the ram on this system to 512 from 256. I put the ram sticks in an old emachine that used to belong to the kids, and that system screams compared to the way it used to run (only had 64m to start with). It's running, sorry to say, ME, but for word processing, it should do fine.

Four functional desktops for two people? wow. One for the sewing room, one for the work away from the internet office, or maybe the kitchen, two for hubby and I to sit side by side while we do our various internettings...

Yeah, I'm in serious popcorn mode here. ;-)

I'll sit back and let them all prove themselves.

... and look forward to Aug 23. :-)
