Today's FEEBLE
YOKE :
As Bill was approaching mid-life, physically he was a mess. Not only was he going bald, but years of office work had given him a large pot belly. The last straw came when he asked a woman co-worker out on a date, and she all but laughed at him. That does it, he decided. I'm going to start a whole new regimen. He began attending aerobics classes. He started working out with weights. He changed his diet. And he got an expensive hair transplant. In six months, he was a different man. Again, he asked his female co-worker out, and this time she accepted.
There he was, all dressed up for the date, looking better than he ever had. He stood poised to ring the woman's doorbell, when a bolt of lightning struck him and knocked him off his feet. As he lay there dying, he turned his eyes toward the heavens and said, "Why, God, why now? After all I've been through, how could you do this to me?"
From up above, there came a voice, "Sorry. I didn't not recognize you."

(Expect to wait in line for hours, but it's worrth it)
TO THE
Good morning, Everyone. Good morning
DC Metroland weather report. Rainy! Yes....we finally got much needed rain. It was coming down in buckets this morning as I made my way from the house to the car. Good thing I had a rain coat in the house otherwise I would have been soaking wet by the time I got in the car. Lots of lightning, too. But, this weekend was fab-u-lous!!
Yesterday morning was the first time in a while that hubby and I could have our morning coffee on the front porch. Yesterday, I spent hours in the pool for much needed R&R. Saturday I spent hours and hours in the bathroom, painting. And, after all of that, I don't like the way the walls came out. Which means I'll have to repaint as soon as I can bring myself to do it.
Thank you, Star, for preparing the Canteen for today's activities. Pizza? Well, geez, I'm actually fond of Pizza Hut pizzas. But, then again, I haven't tried every pizza out there.
Since I am never at the Canteen on the weekends and don't get a chance to say it then.......I need to say thanks to those dedicated individuals who work hard on the weekends to keep the Canteen going. You know who you are.
OH....NOOOOOOOOOOO............
It's Monday, again. Y'all know how I feel about Mondays.
Time for me to make my rounds. See who's here and who's not. But, you stay right where you are. Don't touch that dial. Don't change that channel. Put down that remote. Don't leave the room. Keep your eyes on your monitor. Cause...............I'll be bock!
As for the rest of you.......
Now remember, the Canteen is
So, come on in and sit for a while. There's always plenty of coffee, pancakes, conversation, silliness, and plain old BS
REMEMBER THEM

The best pizza that I ever ate was made at the Dew Drop Inn in pueblo Colorado.
My favorite pizza's come from Lou Malnoti's, Giordano's, & Rosati's.
WON'T even consider eating the "cardboard stuff" they serve at the large national chains....Pizza Hut, PaPa John's, Sir Nick's, Dominio's................they all taste like CARDBOARD!
I've had "pizza" in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, & Tennessee........They just CAN'T make a decent pizza in the South! Seems they can't get the right spices, cheese, or sausage to make a decent one.
I like Solanas Pizza & Subs in Ellicott City, Maryland off Route 40. (It's the one place that I love to order a plain cheese pizza because the selection of cheeses are just right.
Pal Jacks on Main Street Laurel used to be good, but has new ownership - haven't tried them in a while.
In St. Paul/Minn....Cassetta's......Ummmmm Pizza!!!
I got news this morning. It appears that I had a prior "impact dislocation" in my shoulder that I didn't know about...and have a torn ligament. I see the surgeon on Aug 17th.
Leaning Tower of Pizza, Mansfield, Ohio
By the way, it's funny that this thread started last night because yesterday my wife made grilled pizza on the barbecue. Pretty good, too, except for a couple of patches of burned crust (which flaked off, mostly, so no big).
Brier Hill Pizza. Anyone on the thread ever hear of it? It was developed in the "Brier Hill" area of Youngstown, Ohio--where the Italian immigrants settled. It is very simple: olive oil on dough, then pizza sauce, green peppers chopped up fine, and then a sprinkle of parmesan cheese. NO mozzarella or anything else.
