From the article:

“As we move forward rebuilding our city, we must reassess our methods and approach to public safety,” Nagin said in a statement.

But Landrieu said Thursday she doesn’t want to wait.

“It needs immediate attention,” Landrieu said. “We need to do more than just get around a table and talk.”

Didn't Ragin Nagin say just the same thing when he told the Fed to get off their a*ses and get some buses to N'awlins??

I hope she uses some of the money to help us here in Houston, as we were major beneficiaries of the Katrina evacuees and the crime wave they brought with them.

And you want the rest of the country to fix it?

Talk to the parish and tell it to your governor.

I love how Landrieu and Blanco and Nagin constantly throw up there hands and wonder who is going to fix the thirty-year mess that is New Orleans.

What the eff were you knuckleheads elected to do?

Why doesn't this corrupt skank just threaten to punch them all in the face like she did to the President; instead of asking the President for money to solve her problems?

So why not just get it over with and make New Orleans a Federal District just like DC?

The voters in NO seem to like it that way. They returned Nagin to office, didn't they?

It was broken long ago. BTW, it should read, "broken and corrupt."

What they need is to classify the entire city as a war zone and let U.S. military go in there and weed out the terrorists. Until we realize that these inner-city animals are terrorists the same as al Qaeda, and deal with the THE SAME WAY as we deal with foreign-born terrorists, we're not going to make our cities safe again.

Coddling people based on skin color, or giving them breaks because of underprivileged upbringings, does no one any favors and is why this country is rotting at its foundations. Kill the thugs NOW. They are terrorists.

“The criminal justice system in Orleans Parish is broken,” and it will take 100 200 300 400 BILLION DOLLARS to fix it!

Oh jeez, mary... It would cost at least that much to fix your hair.

I have friends who try to blame NO's problems on conservatives because conservatives are in high national office right now. I love to point out to them that the Dems have been in control of that area for 60 years. Taking responsibility.... not a Dem trait.

Mayor Ray had some classic stuff to say about this. Something about dope dealing and stuff being high risk employment. He's such a card that guy.

Actually he's the perfect Mayor for Sad Clown City.

"We're looking forward to the day when ... this city returns to being one of the safest cities in America."
