ONE IN 3 AMERICANSSAY U.S. AIDED 9/11
NY Post ^ | August 3, 2006 | By THOMAS HARGROVE and GUIDO H. STEMPEL III

More than one-third of Americans suspect federal officials assisted in the 9/11 terrorist attacks or took no action to stop them so the United States could go to war in the Middle East, according to a new poll. The survey also found that 16 percent of Americans speculate that secretly planted explosives, not burning passenger jets, were the real reason the massive Twin Towers of the World Trade Center collapsed.

The national Scripps Howard/Ohio University poll of 1,010 adults also found that anger against the federal government is at record levels, with 54 percent saying they "personally are more angry" at the government than they used to be.

Widespread resentment and alienation toward the national government appears to be fueling a growing acceptance of conspiracy theories about the 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

Suspicions that the 9/11 attacks were an inside job quickly have become nearly as popular as decades-old conspiracy theories that the federal government was responsible for President John Kennedy's assassination and that it has covered up proof of space aliens.

Seventy percent of people who give credence to these theories also say they've become angrier with the federal government than they used to be.

Thirty-six percent of respondents overall said it is "very likely" or "somewhat likely" that federal officials either participated in the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon or took no action to stop them "because they wanted the United States to go to war in the Middle East."

"One out of three sounds high, but that may very well be right," said Lee Hamilton, former vice chairman of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States.

His congressionally appointed investigation concluded that federal officials bungled their attempts to prevent, but

If this true, and I seriously doubt it, but if it is...we deserve to go down. Our civilization deserves to be destroyed.

She is a good, intelligent person and was describing to me how she had the best job she ever had, making the most money she ever had and then added the disclaimer " Bush not withstanding,".

Interesting that the fact that Bush's tax cuts are never mentioned as the only thing that got us out of the Clinton Recession on CNN or CBS or in Rooters. If they even mention the Clinton Recession at all that is. Rember that "worst economy since Hoover" BS?

I still know people who don't register because they think that's how they get picked for jury duty!

I'm sorry, but I just don't buy this poll. Has anyone run into large numbers of people that believe this?

This can't be true.

Oh yes it can. My job causes me to have close contact with many flaming liberals. Nearly all of them believe that "Bush&Co." knew the attack was coming and let it happen to give him an excuse to invade Iraq.

These same idiots find it hard to believe that Hezzballah would have sacrificed their own children just to make Israel look bad.

The power of the Press is amazing.

My bro-in-law was over yesterday helping me lay down new flooring in my living room. All of a sudden, he asks me about building 7 and how can I deny it was "imploded by design by our government" and that they found demolition residue all over the place?

Then he hits me with a theory I hadn't heard before; Just before the next presidential election, al-Qrazies will set off a nuke on U.S. soil and Bush will cancel the election and impose martial law. Then he told me what he would do if this happens, which I won't repeat due to not wanting to see him arrested by the Secret Service, almost made me ask him to leave and never to return.

I was sorely disappointed.

I hope the floor looks good---You earned that much!

If this poll were true-Why isn't there a mass exodus from the US? Would you all continue to live in a country where you honestly believed your government would murder you or allow you to be murdered? I'd sure be gone.

The explosives theory is interesting. Every bit of information I have read where they espose planted explosives, immediately indicates a government plot. They do not postulate that the terrorists themselves could have planted explosives in the buildings days before hand. These people want to blaim George Bush for this. They will do anything. I have read numerous websites about the Pentagon plane crash and interviews from people. Where information is inconclusive, again they want to claim a government plot. That is their default and the goal they want to achieve. They are so unhappy that there are people who stand in the way of their liberal advancements, that they will do anything to change it.

It would seem that HATE & STUPIDITY go hand in hand.

The only people that can be STUPID enough to believe this are those that HATE George Bush.

This is to be expected considering the amount of leftist propaganda indoctrination in our failed public education system.

These are the same type of idiots whom Jay Leno seeks out to interview "on the street".

Well no.....the fact the feds have released these tapes which revealed an alarming lack of preparedness by those who spend huge amounts of our tax $ is I'm sure quite comforting to those who wish us harm. Also, there is no doubt there were many brave souls on that in Pa. but if it's true that the wreckage of the plane was strewn over several miles then it does raise questions on the official story.
