Temple Mount Controversy Brewing

A decision by Israel's highest court has triggered fears of a "third intifada."

On Tuesday, the Israel Supreme Court upheld a request by far-right Jewish activists that they be allowed on Thursday to enter Islam's third holiest shrine, the Al-Aqsa mosque compound, which is also revered by Jews as the Temple Mount.

The decision to allow the controversial visit to the east Jerusalem mosque compound was taken despite police warnings that it could spark riots in Israel and the occupied territories.

The small Temple Mount Faithul group requested to visit the compound, where according to Jewish tradition Herod's Temple stood, to mark the Jewish day of mourning for its destruction in 70 B.C.

But despite its controversial decision, the court ordered the group's leader, Gershon Salomon, to stay clear from the area of the Temple Mount or the adjacent Western Wall.

The court also ruled that the far-right group, which counts only a few dozen members, should "not be allowed to carry placards or act in a provocative manner."

Arab Knesset Member Talab El-Sana warned that the permit will ignite a "third Intifada," Israelnationalnews.com reported.

Israeli Arab MP Mohammed Barakeh agreed, telling Agence France-Presse that allowing the activists to enter the compound would lead to a flare-up.

"The decision is petrol in the hands of declared pyromaniacs and could lead to further violence," he said.

A similar court decision in July 2001 sparked bloody clashes in Jerusalem in which 15 Israeli policemen and 18 Palestinians were wounded.

>>It was 70 AD.
>>It was AD 70.

Well I'm guessing the far-right Jewish activist probably would view it as the year 3831, the far left jewish activists perhaps 70 CE. Since neither group views Jesus as their Lord AD had no meaning.

Self esteem. And a little bit of kow-towing to a bully.

We homeschool our three... (Although Mrs. MortMan does the lion's share of the work)

"A decision by Israel's highest court has triggered fears of a "third intifada.""

Simple solution, if there is a third intifada, protesters will be shot. That will end it very quickly.

How about the CHRISTIANS getting together and kicking the frickin moslims out of our First, Second, and Third Holiest sites!

These thugs can use our churches for uninals but the rest of the world is supposed to fall over backward to respect their so-called religion.

Time to support the Jews in regaining their holy sites.

There is a major plagarism story here.

Notice that both the Lebanese Daily Star and the News Max article have the same 70BC mistake in them.

Who is ripping off whom?

\\\Just a wee bit of slant to that journalist hit piece \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\

Meanwhile this article makes it sound like Jews are going into some muslim "shrine" when actually they are being granted the "right" to defy muslim obstructionism (to which Jewish Jerusalem authorities have kow-towed in the name of sensitivity) and to go atop Mount Moriah, described in Jewish history in Genesis 14 and Hebrews 6 as being a significant Jewish site circa 1760-2000 BCE.

The presence of a muslim mosque there (built directly on top of the rock where Judeao-Christian teaching claims that Abraham offered to sacrifice his son Isaac) is a centuries-later afterthought of a johnny-come-lately religion in the history of Mount Moriah's religious significance.

Everyone in America whose church includes the name "Mount Moriah" might think about how they'd feel being forced to change the name to "The Al Aqsa Church of Christ"

%$%#^&$^&$^%#&^%&^#%#$&^$! is about the substance of any reply from any Muslim. Reason and sanity goes right out the window on the wings of their demonic theology.

You've actually gotten an answer about this? LOL ... that's awesome.
