"Eyes Wide Open, Columbus, Ohio: June 12-14, 2006"
by ciaospirit
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Eyes Wide Open, The Human Cost of the War in Iraq exhibit was set up on the lawn of the Statehouse in Columbus, Ohio, June 12-14, 2006. The anti-war, non-violent action group American Friends Service Committee brought the event to Columbus. Local churches hosted the event, particularly the Episcopal Peace Fellowship. The following is my photo experience over the three days. I did a video interview with Dr. Ahmad Al-Akhras of CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) which proved very interesting, as well as interviews with some of the organizers, and some protesters.

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Immigration agents and the FBI are looking for 11 Egyptian students who entered the United States on valid student visas, then failed to show up at a university in Montana, authorities said."
ARTICLE SNIPPET #2: "U.S. authorities are working with foreign intelligence agencies to make sure there is nothing suspicious in the students' backgrounds, federal sources said. Those sources added that 20 students applied for student visas to go to Montana State, but three of the applicants were denied.
"We do want to talk to them. But at this point there's no reason to believe they pose any criminal or terrorist threat," said Assistant Homeland Security Secretary Julie Myers, who heads Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The students were identified as:

Eslam Ibrahim Mohamed El Dessouki, 21

Outreach Team Attacked in Maharashtra; Pastors Wives Beaten in Chhattisgarh
For Immediate Release
MAHARASHTRA, INDIA (ANS) -- In July, three students from a Gospel for Asia Bible college in Maharashtra were hospitalized after being attacked and severely beaten by a group of anti-Christian extremists.
A month later, two pastors wives were stripped and beaten before a village council for their faith in Christ.
Both incidents are evidence of the growing oppression of Christians in central India, says Gospel for Asia President K.P. Yohannan.
The three students, along with a few Christians from a local church, were returning from sharing the Gospel in a neighboring village when they were attacked. The Hindu fundamentalists beat the believers with belts and large sticks, and pummeled them with their fists.
But a group of local residents saw the attack and intervened to break up the beating and rescue the believers.
The pastors wives in Chhattisgarh state were dragged before the community council, stripped naked and beaten for accepting Jesus and following Him, reported GFA regional leader M.A. Lalachan.
Despite beatings and humiliations, believers in central India continue to stand strong. The students injured in the attack were released from the hospital after three days, and the women are recovering.
They are all back to the ministry again, wrote a GFA field correspondent reporting on the Maharashtra team. They are determined and committed to the cause.
Earlier in the day of the attack on the students, 12 people in the village visited by the team had come to the Lord. A new mission station has been started there, wrote the correspondent.
Believers are experiencing increased persecution and attacks, noted Dr. Yohannan. It is our duty and our privilege to stand with them in prayer and fasting, that we may share in our calling to see millions of lost men, women and children come to know the love and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Trac phones
WEST VIRGINIA
Local Terrorism at Work?
The Sheriffs department was hard at work Tuesday tracking Trac phones.
Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks says stores have seen an increase in people buying as many of these Trac phones as possible.
Tuesday, two young men were pulled over after buying several of the phones from a Marietta business.
Police searched their car and found several thousand dollars in cash.
Sheriff Mincks says the phones could be used for something terrorist related.......(SNIP)

You're welcome Cindy.
Just heard on the radio that 1 of the missing Egyptians was found in Montana. More to come.....
FOX had two other Middle East experts on today to talk about the Aug 22 op-ed in WSJ yesterday... Neither seemed to think that the idea was too far off base, and both seemed pretty concerned about the beliefs of Ahmadenijad and his cronies.
