-"Is there a resistance or counter group that would overthrow Raul?" Unfortunately, there is no organized resistance in Cuba. Whatever opposition there is, is relegated to a disparate number of 'peaceful' groups just simply trying to "express" their views for a more open society.
Armed resistance does not exist.
However, the population is completely at bottom's end. The only thing keeping it from going over the edge is a 'spark' from any significant event transpiring to provide the momentum to take to the streets.
