I don't see why we can't have a bit of both. The on-going threads can be useful (although they often get into mere chat), but I think Breaking posts get more attention, and are easier to track and find again. In any case, I don't think Freepers should be criticized for putting them up.
Absolutely agreed. The latest linked information should go as their own threads while the running thread can be kept as a compilation.
