Israeli combat soldiers walk along the Israeli northern border with Lebanon. US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is pursuing a new round of Middle East diplomacy as the Lebanon conflict moved into its 19th day, with Israel and Hezbollah exchanging firepower and threats in defiance of international moves toward a ceasefire
I need to have the vcr running this morning. I thought a few hours ago that Greg said it took him a long time to get there, but just now it's the opposite. From Google Earth is looks about twice that distance and that's as the crow flies. Google needs to get better maps of places of interest.
all this crap about how the poor civilians couldn't get out
You got the right. I have spoken with Iraqi Chaldeans and how they escaped out of Iraq
Also with Eastern Europeans and how they escaped during the cold war.
I have a sense what they were up against as I was in East Germany in several cities in 1983.
You've probably all seen this, but I thought I'd repeat it again:
Just breaking on FOX that the IAF has viedo of the bombing of the Qana building that proves rocket launchers were present. More to follow soon...
Yeah, I need to either run a vcr all the time or invest in a Tivo. I didn't hear Greg's report that said it took him a long time to get there, but I haven't been in front of the TV constantly either. Either way, the civilians could've WALKED to Tyre....they've had 2 weeks.
My guess is the Israelis will have video and other evidence to present for the next session of the security council
Checked the coords again and it is 24 miles from Tyre as the crow flies. Greg has been totally wishy washy today. He may always be but I'm paying more attention to the details today.
This morning on Meet the Press, the Israeli Ambassador said they have video of Hezbollah shooting rockets right next to the UN outpost that was hit last week. I hope he takes that video to the UN and forces Kofi to watch it and then publicly ask for an apology from Kofi for saying that Israel deliberately targeted the UN.
DANG...I am away for a while and all heck breaks out...
It would take me all day to read through this thread since last night...
Can ya'll give me a sense of what the attitude on the thread is about the bombing in Cana, what is going to happen now (regarding cease fire), and the video by Israel showing the Katusha rockets???
Watching the news trackers in probably the most valuable way to see what is going on...the editorializing and spinning is there to blind you...this way you see...
Greg just said Israel has hit that particular area "again and again" so apparently after several attempts in the past, last night finally hit the target. Even more of a case that there shouldn't be anyone not associated with Hezbollah within 3 hills of that village.
It looks like the value of UN stock in the Islamic world is losing value fast.
People posturing for the home audience and/or their favorite allies, and to make Israel and America look bad.
Lebanon said it wouldn't negotiate unless there was a cease fire.
So they called a security council meeting so they can have fun posturing more.
Would be very surprised at any surprises, and most likely hopping mad if we blink.
No, that would make sense. The IDF said today that they have been warning the inhabitants of Qana to leave the area for the past week. So they taped the video on the 22nd...saw the missile/rocket launches...gave the civilians notice...and bombed last night.
Wow, I didn't realize it was THAT far.....thanks for checking that out. Greg usually isn't wishy washy. I have a feeling his minders are probably making him a bit uncomfortable.
FOX female trying to spin - was talking about the presser and basically saying Israel intentionally targeted the building instead of the rocket launcher several meters away.
