Israeli combat soldiers walk along the Israeli northern border with Lebanon. US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is pursuing a new round of Middle East diplomacy as the Lebanon conflict moved into its 19th day, with Israel and Hezbollah exchanging firepower and threats in defiance of international moves toward a ceasefire
I'm not bashing Condi. I love Condi. I'm just reporting what I see here at FR. Condi is in a tough spot for sure. Maybe it is just the way things are being reported by the biased MSM but it is undeniable that her stock has fallen at FR. I'm not trying to contribute to that, just noting it.
FOX news reporting that there is going to be another emergency meeting of Israel's security council re Cana
CONVENTION IV
Part II. General Protection of Populations Against Certain Consequences of War.
Art. 28. The presence of a protected person may not be used to render certain points or areas immune from military operations.

This is what the world ignores.
I wasn't accusing you, either. You and I are on the same page.
Condi's doing a great job. It's just not the job people want her to do. I think they want to see her in Joan of Arc's armour leading the attack into Teheran.
Thanks for posting that. I hope Bolton brings that up at the UN.
Military Intelligence chief: Nasrallah wants ceasefire
Military Intelligence Chief Major General Amos Yedlin told cabinet ministers that Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah wants an immediate ceasefire but Israel "should stick to its stance."
Yedlin added that Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora is satisfied with the Israeli offensive and is interested in reclaiming the Shebaa farms in the frame of negotiations with Israel. "He wants to achieve a gain to show Hizbullah that he succeeded in achieving through negotiations what Nasrallah couldn't achieve by force," Yedlin said. (Ronny Sofer)

I hate to say this...but I have thought for a long time that at this time in history we should have a MALE secretary of state. The Islamic countries have no RESPECT for a woman. That is part of the problem going on here. I love Condi but I felt the same way about Madaline Dimwit. Since I am a woman, I can say this. Feelings get in the way.
Putting the Lebonese troops on the border is the same as Hesbollah.
We're becoming wimps again.
Ain't PC to remember that. The current philosophy is: War fought to preserve the Judeo-Christian and Western values, and particularly nationhood is evil. Therefore, they will fight in the streets to stop you from fighting a war sometimes.
Internationalism and Muslim fascism are the only things to fight for (at least in practice, if not in ideology).
" The day Mookie Sadr assumes room temperature will be a day of great celebration here.""
I hear ya on that one. He's been a huge trouble maker almost from the beginning.
Kelly Wright has made the weekend show watchable again. I too had just avoided it so I didn't have to hear Julian.
Air power alone is rarely enough.
Hopefully they'll be discussing how to better crush these bastards.
The "dead" guy just rose again on Fox. However, it was shot from a different camera. In other words, there's more than one tape of the "victim". It also makes one wonder just how many "victims" and "rescuers" are actually on site.
Yes Greg has earned my respect also. I just wish, when he mentioned all the women and children present, had he actually seen deaths or was he just retelling the line he had been told from the Hez about all the "women and children" killed.
Of course Nazrallah wants a ceasefire. He needs to restock munitions and survey where he stands.
The one thing Israel doesn't need yet is to give into a ceasefire or temporary truce demand.
I'm not sure I'm seeing the same thing you guys are. The first guy they show being carried on a stretcher is a rather heavy man in shorts and a t-shirt. The man sitting up on a stretcher later in the clip is an older man in long garb. Am I watching the same clip everyone is talking about or is there another one?
Which was another reason I don't feel Condi needs to be over there.
The Islamic Army of Iraq is pissed at al-Jazzera. They claim that they have sent many videos/pics of their 'heroic attacks' to the media outlet, but they have been ignored. Too much Hizzy coverage for them.
